TwigWriSum
This is gonna be brief since I really gotta go. But basically, TwigWriSum shall start June 1st and go through to the end of August. Er, well, good luck everyone! ^^; Ari, are those widgets finalized yet . . . ? If so, could you post them here, and I'll edit them into this post for everyone to use?
When I come back, I'll do whatever else needs to be done. But that probably won't be until tomorrow . . . either way, please people, remind me about whatever I need to take care of as pertains to the whole site if you think of something. Prizes, widgets, anything we'll need. I'll be back as soon as I can.
Edit: Just wanted to add a bit more about what we're doing, in case anyone is still unclear.
Basically, we're each choosing our own goal - 20k, 50k, 100k, anything higher, or anything lower - and endeavoring to write that many words over the course of this entire event. Like NaNoWriMo, except with three times the insanity cus we're taking three times the time. And 1% of the planning time.
Prizes have not been arranged yet. We're considering TwigAdopts and special icons for all who meet their goals, with possibly extra prizes for each person who writes the most in their category, or the most stories, stuff like that, and maybe even a nice little treat for the whole site if we can get to 2 million words total. I'll be posting a discussion thread in the Nanowrimo section in a moment for people to keep track of themselves, and you can use widgets too when we get them up. In the meantime, have fun planning your stories (if you feel like it, cus I don't ), and prepare yourselves for the fun!
Another edit: Whee, we have the badges now! :3

Arianna wrote:Yayyy! I have to go to school, but here's how you use the badges:
Use the code:
- Code:
[img]http://pixelpuppy.net/otherfiles/badge/?total=50000&sofar=25000&base=3[/img]
The 'total' number is your goal, and 'sofar' is, well, how many words you have so far! Also, you can choose from background 1, 2, or 3 (I'll be adding Cyn's later), so just go ahead and change that to your liking.

Eh, I can't stay up late. I don't do good on 6 hours of sleep. But I'll start writing before class starts tomorrow. And if I get bored in history... or Spanish... or biology... And I know what I'm writing, so that's good for me.

Amanda, I'll join you! I can't say I'll be typing with you guys, as I can't exactly sneak my computer upstairs, but I will definitely keep in touch with you guys on my Touch. :3 And I'll just write my story on paper to be typed up later and put on a word count tool.
Conveniently enough my parents are taking me out to eat ice cream, which I never get to do (well I haven't since I was six), and we probably won't be home 'til ten, so I'll be really hyper, and and and WHEEEEEEE. :33333
*coughs* I'm going to leave before I get too off topic. xD

I spent like all day trying to find something to write, but I managed to remember something I've been wanting to write. And my family will actually want to read this, so they can give me advice.

Awesome, Anna!
Pugs, I'd suggest looking through song meanings for an idea. Like Brick by Boring Brick totally inspired me. Maybe there's something out there that would trigger you?

I've never done this before, so I'm pretty new to whats going on. Just one question, I've asked the others, what is a wordwar?

A wordwar is where you set a certain amount of time and try to write as many words as possible during that time and try to beat everyone else.

Re: TwigWriSum
An hour and a half for me until it starts. *-* But, much to my surprise, I'm back online, probably staying up till midnight (if I don't totally pass out, since I'm tired already), and jumping into this with no clue of what I'm doing. I'm definitely gonna be enjoying myself. Anyway, I'm updating the front with a bit of extra info!
Re: TwigWriSum
It's an hour and a half for me too, but I agreed to be up with a few others in the EST to get a heck of a lot of words in, so... xD

Twenty minutes to go! I will probably spend like five minutes writing and go straight to bed, I'm already practically dead to the world.

Oh, how do we know how many words we've written? Like do we have to count as we write?

Re: TwigWriSum
Well, there's two options for you. The first is definitely preferred, where you do all your writing all the computer. Then you either keep it all in one word-processing document, or copy and paste it there later, and use the word counting feature that's built in to figure out your total so far.
Or, if you're writing by hand, you have to manually count the words. Which is . . . lots harder. And thus not advised, but entirely acceptable. And you can always just type the words onto the computer later on if you need to. ^^

Re: TwigWriSum
Oh, okay! I thought it had to be written on the site first, my bad. Awesome, then I'll just type in word, I hope that has a built in counter. I'm using a rather old computer, because I haven't bought the other one yet.

The only reason I'm going to start manually is because I'll be in my room, and typing on my Touch would take too long.

I write every thing on the computer. Feels more natural, too me. Or maybe because I can kill my mistakes a loooooot faster.

Yeah, I can do both, but I prefer writing at school and typing and home. It's weird...... I like typing a bit more though, I like the neat letters when mine are everywhere.
