Never, never would I have thought that this could have happened to me. Some claim that it was just fate, that I was chosen to be part of this... experiment for a reason. Those of us who were there? We know it was something more. Something that couldn't have been random. We were chosen for a reason, yes, but it was a reason that held meaning. But that one reason changed all of our lives, some for the better, but most of us for the worst.


My name is Alice, at least; that's how I remember it sounding. It's been so long, I don't even know what a name means. Right now, it is dark. It's always dark. The only memory I have is of a girl, who's hair matched the color of the sun, and who's eyes were the like the sky on a cloudless day. Sister. I think that's what she was called. My sister. I don't know what that means. I know she's out there somewhere. Somewhere, somewhere I'll find her. Find her and save her. I know she's in trouble. But there's no where out of this place. I've tried, for... for as long as I can remember. They've taken everything from me. Everything except that memory and my name. I have to fight them. I have to win.


My name is Parker, at least; that's what the writing on the walls says. Written over and over is that word. Parker. I don't even know how I know how to read it. I don't know what's going on. I've been here as long as I can remember. There is a window in my cell, enough to give light. I mark the times of light on the wall. There are so many, I've lost count, but still I mark the times. It's all I can do to keep from going completely insane. I just want to get out of here. There has to be something more than this, than this... cell. This small hole in the world that I've lived in for so long. Parker. That's my name, but is it my identity? Who am I?


My name is Alice. I don't know where I am. My memories have begun to fade completely, except for the young girl. I fear that if I'm not careful, I will lose all memories that I have forever. Every-once in a while, I see one of them. One of the coats. I think that's what they're called; long white robe-type-things. I don't like them. They poke me with needles; sharp things that make the red water run away from my veins. It doesn't hurt very much. They tell me that I'll feel a sharp pinch, and that's all I ever feel. Sometimes I get sleepy after I see the red water. I've never liked red water... Or so I can remember. But sometimes I wonder whether or not the needles are supposed to be in my body or not.


My name is Parker. I don't like the Coats, at least that's what they call themselves. They're mean, horrible people. All they do is take. They take the red water, at least that's what they call it. Then they put in the golden water. I don't know what it is. It makes me feel like sleeping, but when I wake up, the Coats are gone. I've been out of my cell once since I was put in it, and it was a time when I was coughing, and they had taken me after putting the golden water into me. When I woke up, there was light. It was brilliant, and I'll never forget it. Never. I think about it every day. That's all I can do to keep my memories alive.


My name is Alice. I live in a cell, with a small bed. It's not very comfortable, but I've learned to love it. I have a book too. A book and a pen. They make me write down my thoughts. That's what I'm doing right now, writing down my thoughts. What else do I have to do? There is nothing. Funny, how I can keep writing. I don't even know why I know how to write. Why do certain things stay in my knowledge, like this language, but other things deteriorate? Could it be that the golden water they put in my body is making me forget?


My name is Parker. I live in a cell, with a small bed. I've learned to live with it, even if it's not the most comfortable thing. They tell me to write in the book that I have, the book with the pen. I've used the pen to mark the walls. "Parker, Parker, Parker, Parker". How else will I remember? I must learn to not forget, for that is the key to learning to remember. I don't want to be in this room any longer. I feel like I have been in here forever. Staying here can't be good for me. But what I want most of all is to see light again. I hope I'll get my wish soon.


My name is Alice. My thoughts have begun to be short. I don’t know how much more of this I can take. I need to find her, Sister. Find her before I forget for good. I wonder now if I am alone in here, or if there are others besides the Coats. Why would it be just me they chose? What did I do wrong that I have to be here? Why do they continue to replace red with gold in my body? I don’t like the gold. I want to leave.


My name is Parker. My head becomes weary as the passing suns go on. I’m losing nearly all of my memories now. I don’t know when it will stop; when I’ll just sit there, alone in my thoughts and my empty head. I don’t want any more gold water. I said this to them yesterday. They laughed at me. It was odd. I hadn’t remembered that sound until then. I don’t think they’re supposed to talk to us, they never have before. That’s what makes it so lonely here; there is no company.


My name is Alice. I was patient today, and patience always earns results. I’ve been counting the suns, and the Coats come every four suns. I watched; they enter through the floor in the corner. I made sure they thought I was asleep on my bed. They come in the darkness of the fourth sun. I went to search for the entrance; I can feel it. Why did I not feel it before? I must have touched every surface of this cell, but never did I notice this. I’m going to try and escape.


My name is Parker. Every four suns. Every four suns, the Coats come. They enter through the corner of the floor. I wonder if I can leave the same way. It seems logical. I’m going to try, try on a day when they don’t come. The darkness of the second sun. That’s when I’ll try to leave. I’ll make it out and maybe I’ll meet someone else, someone who’s in the same position as me. We can do this together, and we will.

Alice - Doesn't remember her last name. She's been locked for years. She has blonde hair and blue eyes, and the only thing she remembers of her outside life is an image of a little girl, but she doesn't remember who the little girl is. Her personality is very shy and quiet. She doesn't talk to any of the guards.

Parker - Doesn't remember anything about his past, and has no memories or concept of time. He knows his name is Parker, but that's only because it's on the walls over and over so he won't forget. He has dark brown hair and dark eyes, and his hands are rough from trying to escape from the cell, or find a way to escape.
