Haha, well recently, I found an anime website ( http://www.anime-planet.com ) that lets you keep track of the different animes you've watched/are watching/etc. And a very interesting (at least I thought it was) it shows you on your profile is how much of your life has been spent watching anime and how many total episodes you've watched of anime.

Apparently, I used 3 week, 1 day, and 54 minutes to watch a total of 1,316 episodes...
Wow, that's a long time. Almost a month. I'm such an otaku. XD
Watching 1,316 episodes is like watching 3/4 of Pokemon and almost all of Naruto, so perhaps not it's not THAAAAT bad, but still...It's quite a lot. o_o;

How much of your life has been spent watching anime, do you think?
Is there such a thing as too much? XD

Oh, wow. XD

Well, I really don't watch that much anime. To tell you the truth, the only times I've watched anime is when I saw the first two episodes of Death Note and then the last episode. And then I used to watch Pokemon a lot... but yeah, I haven't seen all that much. I'll stick to manga, thank you very much. ^^

Heheh, I watch anime for the music, usually. X3 Still need to watch Blood+...

Anyway... That's epic. o.e Time well wasted, I'd say! What a Face I've only ever watched a few InuYasha episodes, Death Note and Ouran. So I've only spent maybe 2 days watching anime? Pitiful. D:
I read quite a bit of manga, but I always end up stopping at like the third volume in a series because I can't find any more. Need to start watching/reading more. ._.

Such a thing as too much anime? Empty Re: Such a thing as too much anime?

Post by Squeecky540 7/27/2010, 12:14 am

I've watched, if not forgetting something (which I probably am) roughly (estimating by looking at my series list) around 900 episodes of anime that I can't possibly begin to list, a bunch of those smaller anime series and predominantely my faves and the two largest, Naruto and Bleach. This is not including my uncountably huge and completely random Pokemon watching, or any fake anime like Bakugan, Teen Titans, Totally Spizes, and Avatar... all of those anime I watched alot of, but did that sort of follow-it-when-you-can thing. I'm also not counting the stuff I watched as a kid and was amused blankly by the action even if I couldn't comprehend it very well as it was also one of those follow-it-when-you-can-even-though-you're-an-absentminded-tike things... oh yes. One Piece, Zatch Bell, those being which Cartoon Network kicked. I haven't read as much manga, I've read the Ginga Densetsu Riki and Ginga Densetsu Weed Gaiden, (as I had already watched Ginga Nagareboshi Gin and Ginga Densetsu Weed) a one shot called Stray Dog, a volume of Vampire Knight (So I could watch it later), some of the Pokemon Adventures when I go to Borders, and I went from the what-was-then-current points of Naruto and Bleach in the anime and read through the manga to their over-all current points. So we're up quite a bit past the 1000 mark of anime, and not too much manga... however, I have a list for each... huge, huge lists containing my completed, during, and planned... I've done alot and I'm doing a little and I'm going to do alot.

O.O you've watched all of detective conan?????!!!??
I decided that was my spare time anime and I wasn't even gonna try to watch it all. But I've watched LOTS of anime otherwise.
I've watched EVERY SINGLE original Naruto episode (I don't like shippuden though, but I watched to around ep 100 of that)
I've watched every inuyasha episode (but not the 'final act' series, yet)
I've seen all of Ouran (Multiple times), Elemental Gelade, Lovely Complex (like, twice?), Tokyo Mew Mew, Karin and I'm sure some others.
I made it about halfway through Tsubasa Chronicles and burned out on it. I made it about halfway through Nabari No Ou and decided not to watch it cuz it hinted at yaoi. I watched Death Note until around episode 17 when i found out L was gonna die and the whole thing became worthless to me. I watched a bit of Buso Renkin but it started getting weird. I watched Powerpuff Girls Z but it started getting repetitive and boring. Hey, it's for kids! Sonic X. Not too interesting. I tried ROD the TV. at first it seemed okay but then it was like... innapropriate/yuri. yuck. Hikaru no go and Rurouni Kenshin are both good, but I prefer the mangas for those two. I watched FMA:Brotherhood and regular FMA, both for quite a few episodes but each time ended up stopping watching it. I love that show. But there's too much religion aspect and I don't feel like that part honors God, so I quit. :') I've watched the first few episodes of COUNTLESS anime, trying to find good ones, and for the most part, failing. Some of those include Pumpkin Scissors (boring and kinda odd) Samurai Champloo (didn't even make it through the first ep. Graphically. Violent. I'm talking breaking fingers one by one. >.<) FLCL (it makes no sense and it's just.. scarring O_O) Pokemon (not too interested) Shiki (shudder... DON'T WATCH IT) Sargent Frog (thinking about actually watching that one) Shattered Angels (interesting/utterly stupid at the same time, not gonna watch it) Digimon (kinda for kids) Bakugan (because my kid brother loves it) and countless others. I'm still around the 20ish episodes of Case Closed/detective conan... I'm maybe a quarter of the way through Shugo Chara, I've seen up to episode 6 of Solty Rei...
Not to mention I've watched two Miyazaki movies (Ponyo and Howl's Moving Castle)
I've rambled enough. As you can see, I've probably watched more anime than anyone else here. Or most of y'all, anyway.

Oh, blah, I don't even know how much time I've spent on anime. x3

Let's see...

I've watched almost every Pokemon, Dragon Ball/Z/GT, YuGiOh/GX episode there is...
I've seen the majority of Naruto, but nother every single episode.
I've seen some of Shippuden, but the current arc scares me. O.O
I've made it to episode 11 of Shugo Chara, I started Tsubasa, and FMA, but FMA is creepy, and I like what Aki said about it. I've watched all of Ouran, most of the episodes twice and... I can't remember anything else...

So, that's it. Basically, I've been watching anime my whole life. XD (No, I'm serious. I've been watching since I was little!)

Nice list, Claire. I'd have to say, is probably the most different animes at least tried out of any of us yet to post on this thread. Thinking about it, the only thing I dropped out of was the manga Oresama Teacher... it just didn't interest me enough to keep reading it after the first chapter.

But on WI, being the Anime and Manga Freak Club, owner... have seen alot of anime/manga lists, and I have to say someone called StarWhispers had the largest I've ever seen in my life- by a long shot. And these are just her favorite anime. It's really admirable; talk about dedication. *_*

Air Gear
Angel Sanctuary (Made me cry)
Aira the Animation, Natural, Origination

I've only been into anime for the last... let's see... 2 or 3 years? I mean, I didn't even know what it WAS until my BFF showed me a picture of Naruto. Ironically, my first response was 'why would they make a TV show about THAT guy?'
My very first contact with anime was seeing sailor moon dolls in a magazine when I was really little, but I didn't really care. xD I thought they were pretty though.

Wow, Squeecky, that list is super impressive, that girl obviously has watched a lot. I've actually tried/looked at or at least heard a lot of those, I just happen to be picky about what I watch, which is why mine isn't quite that long yet. :D

In my list, I realized I forgot some.
Lucky Star was GREAT. I've seen the whole thing.
Also, I've watched the entire first section of Code Geass (I tried watching the Code Geass R2 Lelouch of the something-or-other, but it got boring)
I tried Full Metal Panic, I actually don't remember why I'm not watching it. Maybe I just forgot. xDDD
I've seen all of Fruits Basket. I kinda forget about that one most of the time.
I've seen some of School Rumble.
I've actually been thinking about watching Trigun. I need to make a mental note of that.

...I could go on.

I watched Code Geass fully... r1 was my favorite. And I believe it's Lelouch of the Rebellion? But yeah, I'm REALLY picky. I actually went through all of the adventure manga that was still on onemanga and looked through it to choose my future manga. x)
