I need you opinions...what's the best type? Which model works best compared to the prices? How many songs do you averagly have? ect, ect.
Thanks!

Re: iPod.
You're meaning iPods in specific, right, not just like any MP3?
Well, anyway, I really like the nanoes. They hold more than the shuffles, they have screens, they're small and easy to take with you places, and they're not the most expensive. I think the prices are based on how much space they have, but I've only ever had two different iPods, so I can't really compare very well. The Nano is definitely a good price, though, especially if you get the 8 gig one.
If money is no object, then - for a nano, at least - get as much memory as you can. Because trust me, someday, you will run out. xD Each gig is supposed to hold 250 songs, but my 3rd gen iPod Nano - the squarish one - has 4 gigs, is pretty much full, and only holds about 600. xP It all depends on how you import the songs, though. In your iTunes preferences, under import settings in general, I'd recommend having that set to the AIFF encoder because it takes up the least amount of space on your iPod.
Here's all the different kinds, anyway, I think. xD I hope I'm not leaving any out. And this is probably gonna be more helpful than whatever I said above, because this time I'm actually doing my research. xD
Shuffles:
Nanoes:
Classics:
Touches:
So they all have their good and bad points . . . I still say an 8gig nano would be your best choice, but choose based on what you want and what you're willing to spend.

Shuffles:
- Very small
- Cost 60 for a 2 gig, 80 for a four gig, and 100 for a stainless steel four gig
- Hold either 500 or 1000 songs
- Doesn't have many buttons; you have to change the song and stuff on the earbuds, so if you break those you're screwed (cus they cost like 30 bucks on their own)
- has voiceover, which is where you can talk into it to choose your song and stuff, or something . . . at the least, it tells you what you're listening to
- You can color them.
- No screen
Nanoes:
- Small enough to carry around with you, but big enough not to lose them somewhere
- Costs 150 for 8 gigs, and 180 for 16
- Holds either 2000 or 4000 songs
- The newest model has a good sized screen, and also has a little built-in video camera
- Has FM radio and a pedometer
- Does genius mixes
- I believe it's got this cool feature where you can shake it to shuffle your songs, but I'm not sure if the 5th gen has it.
- You can color them.
Classics:
- Pretty big; unless you have a purse, they'd be hard to take places.
- Costs 250 for 160 gigs, your only option
- Holds 40,000 songs, which is pretty amazing if you don't mind the bulky model
- Doesn't have many great features, which explains why it's not too much for so much space. It's like an oversized 3rd gen iPod Nano.
- Comes only in black and silver.
Touches:
- About the size of the iPod Classic, except slimmer.
- Costs 200 for 8 gigs, 300 for 32, and 400 for 64
- Holds 2000, 8000, or 16000 songs
- They seem more fragile than the other models, so you'd have to be careful not to screw it up
- Great for gaming and a good pocket computer, not just for music like the others
- Does genius mixes
- If you have wireless internet, then this can go online for absolutely no cost
- You can purchase songs from iTunes without using your computer
- They're really fun to carry around
- Come only in one model; no customizable colors, though you can get skins
- The next model to come out will have a camera and a microphone built in, if you want that and don't mind waiting
So they all have their good and bad points . . . I still say an 8gig nano would be your best choice, but choose based on what you want and what you're willing to spend.
Re: iPod.
Cool! With the whole thing with my dad, though, my best chance is probably getting a shuffle. xD

Re: iPod.
Yeah, a shuffle's a good start. I had one before my nano . . . a really crappy one that only held a hundred songs . . . but while I had it, I saved up to get a better one. xD And so by the time I needed it, I was pretty much able to buy it.
Re: iPod.
My uncle has a 10% off thingy, cuz his work is somwhow conneccted to Apple. xD
I think that the Nano seems best, cuz I now I'm not getting the Touch. If my dad had a job, though, I could... *sigh*

Re: iPod.
Awesome! That's actually how I got my first one. My uncle worked for HP, and they made a shuffle with Apple, but when the partnership ended they had to get rid of those shuffles. So he got ours for really low prices.
Yeah, the nano would be a great choice. (Sorry bout your dad. )

Re: iPod.
lol, looks like Shadz covered it pretty well! It depends on your budget, but I think nanos are great! But if you can't afford one or something, shuffles work well too!
