All The Way Home

Alright. I feel really behind in the poetry section. So, here's something to make up for it, and I promise that in the morning I will comment on all other poems.

I've been walking
on this lonely road
all the way home
And I don't see a light
in the distance
I've heard them say
that home is where
the heart will rest
But this heart seems
to be nonexistent

Oh, life went on.

I've stood in front
Of this open gate
Waiting for home
But I step inside and
see nothing at all
I watch for change
And I'm sadly
disappointed in you
Because you let me
watch these bars fall

Oh, life went on.

I sailed across
the sea in pain
all the way home
But this ship didn't
lead me anywhere
Stormy skies
darker clouds
threatened us
Shouting curses through
the wind and air

Oh, life went on.

When darkness
Turns to light
Approaching home
Won't give you time to
forgive all their mistakes
Will we stay gold
forever? Will we
stay dark, forever?
You'll never know
If dawn will break

The road is blocked
The gate is locked

The sea is gone,
Drowning dawn
But life went on

Oh, life went on.
