i need your lightly sugared assumptions
and stained naviety.
i need the strawberrying scent of 4am outpourings,
and whispered earlobe words as
saline coats our coexisting perceptions.
i need your buzzed sympathy
and refolded love
and water-stained complications
of trust.

i want to catch a pretty song
and confuse you again.
i want to be heavy in your arms
and collapse into the strangled sound
of your heartbeat.
i want your finished self-esteem
and denied accusations
of perfection.

i'd like to break my freshly carved words
over your thinly sharpened smile.
i'd like to repeal your hushed insecurities
and fall carefully into
our ideas of latenight love letters.

i'd like you, if i may.
