o.0 . . . is this good or bad?!

Our band director emailed my dad about his crappy audition. She said something like, "You said you'd sightread the music. We can't afford to have someone in symphonic band who sightreads serious music. We understand that you are a busy man, so we think it would be better to make use of your talents in senior band."

Except in a nicer way. xD

My mom said she'd never said anything about me, though. o.0 So is that good, or bad, or neutral?

It could be good cus if I wasn't getting into symphonic, maybe she woulda said something about me, too.

It could be bad because maybe I'm not anyway, but they don't think it's important enough to tell me beforehand. D=

Or it could be neutral because they haven't decided one way or another about me, but it was automatically a no for my dad because of the circumstances.

I need reassurance. ._.

Well, see, my dad and I both tried out for the highest level of band. My audition was pretty decent, but his was really crappy. (You have to record them and send them in.) So I'm really anxious, worrying over if I'll make it in.

I keep getting dreams that I get 4th or 3rd chair, and I'm starting to get a little anxious, as the audition results are probably gonna be in, as dad's are. I bet you do get into Symphonic, Shad', you seemed really good in the audition.

What's symphonic?

It's the highest level of our band. There's four levels - cadet, concert jr., concert sr., and symphonic. Symphonic is really hard, and you need to do auditions to get into any of them but cadet.
