Monster

A Monster inside a girl,
13 years old with eyes as blue as the sea
yet she was the dullest pearl.

monster, growing
the girl, slipping
pain inside
the monster, gripping.

The darkness building a shadowy wall,
the girl sees,
and time tells all.

a friendship lost,
a broken heart,
because of her lies
they were torn apart.

her skin turned to ice
as she gazed into the mirror
reflecting something odd
that drew her in nearer

under her smiling facade
lays a girl crushed with sorrow
and though she says:
I can't wait 'til tomorrow"
inside her head she's bound to refrain
because the day of tomorrow
just brngs another day of pain

Maturity: People being overtaken by monsters
Fantasy: Monsters
