She winced.

"Go on." she smiled. "Go live with your kind. Be sure to visit," she murmured.

"Yes, Mother." She said, and turned to leave.
"Wait!" Shrewstar called desperately.

Eagleflight looked at her mate curiously.

"Can I at least give you a proper warrior ceremony?"

Eagleflight's eyes widned, and so did her smile.

"Of course, Father." Fox paw said, beaming.
"It will private, and right here, though."
She nodded.
"Eagleflight, are you satisfied that Foxpaw is ready to become a warrior?"

She nodded. "Of course."

"Foxtail! Foxtail!" Eagleflight cried out in joy for her kit.

Foxtail beamed, and a thought hit her. "What's your name?" she asked the old fox.
"Oh...I can't even remember." His lip sucked in. "I think...I think it was Craidy."
She smiled at Craidy.

Eagleflight sighed and gave her a last lick.

"I'll miss you guys. All of this." Foxtail looked around at the camp and forest, and sighed.
Craidy rested his tail on Foxtail's shoulder. "We'll have to leave if we want to get back by dawn."
Shrewstar licked his adopted daughter. "We'll miss you too, Foxtail. All of his." His eye blinked, and a tear rolled down his face.
Foxtail flicked it away with her bushy tail. She looked at Craidy.
He nodded, and started to walk away.
She licked her parents and tears rolled down her face.

Eagleflight sighed, the tears stinging her scars.

"Goodbye....Mom." And then she walked away.

Eagleflight sighed and lied down. Then she remembered something. "Shrewstar?"

"Yes?" He answered her.

"Shrewstar...I think I might be..." she paused.

"What, Eagleflight?"

"Pregnant." she finished, and a smile grew across her face.

His face filled with shock. How could he have more children after he'd just lost his most important?

Eagleflight nuzzled him lightly.

His face turned into a smiel.

Eagleflight purred and leaned against him.
