Re: The Book Club
Lol, same here, Amanda. xD I struggled through The Hobbit once, then reread it again and it was easier to get through. But when I started on the actual series, I didn't even make it to halfway through the second before putting them indefinitely aside. xD I'm hoping next time I pick them up it'll be better, though.
Man, I wanna read Percy Jackson! xD

Yes, same. XP Except I did get through the series once with my mom when I was seven. But then the summer before sixth grade I did exactly what you did.

Re: The Book Club
Do you guys like when books end with everything explained, or do you like not knowing what happens next? (debate with my friends xD)

Re: The Book Club
Explained, definitely. I won't hate the book if there's a cliffhanger, but I just feel that much better about it if the ending feels somewhat complete.
Uglies series? Baaaad endings.
Twilight series? Debatable . . . xD Maybe I didn't mind cus I read too many spoilers.
Inkheart series? I think they were good . . .
Dragon Soul? Perfect!
Shadow Souls? Baaaaaad ending. I mean REALLY bad. Horrible. It's the worst cliffhanger you'll ever see!!
Desperate? Beautiful. :3
Falling? *scratches head* I forget. xD
And yes, those last four are mine.

Re: The Book Club
Well, it depends. If it's in a series, cliffhangers are good, 'cause you wanna read on. If it's just a book, then it's annoying. xD

Re: The Book Club
Yeah, series cliffhangers are alright cuz you know there's gonna be more, even though it's really annoying to have to wait for the next one to come out! lol. But if it's just a book, I'm like, "what the heck??" lol

Re: The Book Club
This was just one book we read in school. No series. Not even a sequel. And it just ended.

*ahem* Incorrect. Animorphs has the worst cliffhanger ever. It's a scientific fact.

Oh, you're right! xD
Well, out of my stories, SS has the record then. xD
Oh, and Torched. I like Torched. Torched was the awesomest book ever. And I read it. It was awesome.
Anywho, but that had a pretty nasty ending. xD Semi-cliffy.

Re: The Book Club
Oooh, I can't believe I haven't joined!
Recently I've read Speak, Exposed, and The Dead and the Gone. Speak was good, Exposed was fine, just a bit weird, and The Dead and the Gone is just... scary. Plain scary.

Re: The Book Club
Speak is about this girl who calls the cops on an end-of-summer party for a reason I'd rather not reveal, so she's really unpopular at school. Basically, it's her dealing with starting highschool with literally no friends. It's a quick read, but a good one.
Exposed is about this girl who has this online boyfriend who then ends up trying to kidnap her little sister. It's sort of freaky, and it's supposed to be 14+. Yeah. Mature themes.
The Dead and the Gone is about Alex Morales, a 17-year-old guy who lives in New York. The moon is hit (like you might have seen in my freewrite) by an asteroid and everything goes bad. His parents are dead, there are food shortages, and he has to take care of his sisters, Bri and Julie. Bri reminds me of you, I guess. They end up going through a lot of things (SPOILER ALERT AS OF THIS POINT),

- Spoiler:
- but the end is just... really disturbing for me. (EVEN MORE SPOILER ALERTNESS) Bri is going to the 12th floor after praying because Alex recovered from a horrible flu, and the electricity goes out. Alex and Julie don't notice, and she dies in there. And.... then they open the door and they smell rotting flesh. *gags* That almost made me cry. Seriously. It's like, really disturbing.
Re: The Book Club
I'm gona make a list of books I want to read later today xD Speak is on there, in my head atleast. I heard the movie was good

Re: The Book Club
I asked for some books for Christmas....three about dragons (Dragon Codex), Eclispe and Breaking Dawn, Witch and Wizard (I've already red the first 20 chapters :3), and A Practical Guide to Vampires.
