I looked up as a feeder entered. Now, there was my chance. As the feeder opened the cage door, I sprang out and bowled him over, sinking teeth into his throat. He tried to scream but it didn't work. My clenched jaws drowned it out until he stopped thrashing and his eyes were glazed.

Alice watched- and her eye twitched. "Nice going Liz!" She whispered. "Now get us outta here!"

I watched Blake scream at the others. A tear rolled my right cheek.

I looked up, then headed towards the door and pressed a small red button. All of the cages opened. It was a mad scramble until the kids found the door and began to leave.

Alice scrambled to her knees and crawled out of her cage. "I.. feel... so... alive!" She said, smiling. She slid her jacket on. "Now let's get outta here."

I shot out of my cage and grabbed Jessi out of hers.

My arms and legs wrapped around him like boa constrictors(sp?). I hed on as tightly as I could.

I ran for the door with the others. "Whatever you do, don't let go."

Free! I took Flame, and Jonathan took Rosi. And we both left that place, for good.

Alice stopped at the door, and turned around. "Good bye Cages, Hello fresh air." She said with a small smile.

I took my first breath of fresh air for the first couple of months. "Can we go home now?"

"Are you crazy? If we go home, Mom and Dad will just ship us off back here."

Alice walked outside, and shielded her eyes from the sun. She sucked in a big breath, then ran after Liz and the others.

I followed them all into the woods.

I took one glance back, just to make sure everyone got away. I saw one little 10 year old got caught, but everyone else got away.

I kept running, until I ran into something that yelled in surprise. Another kid. Not one of ours.
