Each of them has their own story, actually. Crystal was once Crystalz in a story of mine [based off of a video game xD], and a butterfly. Since her dragon is the main dragon in that book, I just removed the Z and voila; the Dhesira, well, I kinda stole that off of the name Desarae, and switched it around a bit.
After that, I got the idea of having some more children have mineral names. Citrine is one, and Daisy was more random than anything. The same goes for Ruby Veronica.
Jasper, one of the two boys, was thought up by someone else, but when I searched it on one of those name meaning sites, turns out it means "spotted stone" or something like that! And Caspian, well, the Spilmors know Blackheart very well, so... Yeah.
Amy is short for Amelia, and because somehow she was born with so many Aussie characteristics, they gave her the middle name Sheila. As a matter of fact, Pearl and Xavior [the Spilmor parents] wanted to name her Amethyst, but they thought it wasn't a good name. Now, is Citrine any better a name? Well, that's a question for them, not me.
Spilmor was pretty random, too. It's one of my favorites nowadays.
The last name Greil is actually based off of the curser Gressil from Ghost Rider, same applying to Blackheart. I just took away the S's.
Amber is a friend of mine, and her personality suits her pretty well, too.
Brad came from Brad Paisley. xD
Claire, like Amber, is based off of a friend of mine. The last name Marphi came from the ole switch-a-roo, this time being used on Murphy.

And I almost forgot the animals!

Hinzel was another switch-a-roo creation. I switched the A in Hazel with In.
Chronicler came from The Legend of Spyro games, xD
Amai is Japanese for either Sweet or Sleep, I'll have to look it up again.
Lirosa was a little more complicated. I took in fact she was a life dragon, and her owner has the ability to control vines. I got rid of the "fe" in Life, and replaced it with the name Rosa.
Thelia was somewhat random, but the inspiration came from Sheila.
Tyson was very random. xD
