Where do most of Japan's people live?

Yeah, so. A few days ago we finished up our Japan chapter in Geography, so we had a test and all. Today we got our tests back, and my friend got a few questions wrong. Well, one of them stuck out -

The question was something like "Where do most of Japan's people live?"
The answer was supposed to be crowded cities, I think.

And, she put the United States.

Yeahh, she claims it was only an accident. Then again, she's the one who thought the People's Republic of China was Tibet, so...
