Ooh, I'm inspired by lots of his songs. Especially Fireflies, 'cause it's like about imagination and stuff. It makes me feel not like a loser to still be young at heart, 'cause Adam's young at heart too! ^^

Ooh, and as for meanings of songs, I've mainly only analyzed (sorta) Vanilla Twilight. I think it's about him having to break up with his girlfriend because she had to move away. And he's saying that though he's sad that she's gone, he can't waste his time dwelling on the past and he has to move on, though he'll still always love her. It's sad, yes, but I think it's a lovely break up song. As opposed to all the violent, angry ones.... :/ And he's not totally pushing her out of his life, either, because he still thinks of her when he gets lonely.

And Rainbow Veins, I didn't analyze myself, but someone said on a site that it's about his girlfriend getting to serious in their relationship, so he takes her on a vacation to bring some more colour and fun into the love. And it makes sense, 'cause it says "Your nerves gather with the altitude," like an airplane. And of course it's talking about shooting a rainbow through her veins to give some colour to her heart.

Then there's Panda Bear...
I think this one is about him being tired of the city life and wanting to find an escape from all the chaos. Or somethin' like that... I haven't put a lot of thought into it.

Okay, well, I interpreted Fireflies. Are you ready?

Too bad. Here's what I discovered:

Each firefly in the song represents a girlfriend this dude had. Except, while he was talking about them all at once, he didn't really have them all at once. He had them one at a time.

Lit up the world as I fell asleep

In this stanza, he's obviously just gone on a date with his girlfriends. So he's going to sleep, but they're all staying up, texting their friends and stuff about what an awesome time they had. And cellphones light up, so if there's ten million girlfriends, that's a lot of light!

'Cause they'd fill the open air
And leave teardrops everywhere
You'd think me rude
But I would just stand and stare

This stanza . . . it's a little confusing. I'm pretty sure it's either after the dude broke up with them - oh, yeah, that's it. He wakes up in the middle of the night, you see, and calls them all. Cus he's had a dream that told him to break up with them, so he listened to it. And they're all upset now, but he's just staring at them like, "What's the big deal?" And then they all go to mob his house, leaving no open space at all. xP

He's saying here that he wishes his life could go on slower. But it doesn't, cus he gets a new girlfriend like every day. Thanks to his dreams, and he always gets a new one right away cus he's so awesome. And then the awake-when-asleep stuff is how he could just stay up and avoid the dreams, but he doesn't really want to get sleep deprived. And while everyone thinks he's a player, it's not his fault. It kills him every time he dumps someone new.

From ten thousand lightning bugs
As they tried to teach me how to dance

Well, some of those girls apparently convinced him to go to a dance, though this dude doesn't know how.

He failed so badly every time that he broke the disco ball.

Here's when he's actually attempting to stay awake, but he's not really sure what he's trying to do. Little does he realize that, by the time he decides to sleep after all, he's too tired to close his eyes.

I got misty eyes as they said farewell

Finally, the girls realize they're better off without him. So they apologize for getting so upset, and promise not to bug him anymore. Assuming that it's what he wants. But it's not . . . so they all think he's weird now cus he started crying.

But I'll know where several are
If my dreams get real bizarre
'Cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar

In the end, he pleaded with a few of those girls, explained everything, and so they took him back cus though they told him they were over him it was ALL a LIE!! They've really been in love with him the whole time just the same; they just wouldn't admit it cus they cared so much about him that they would rather be just friends forever than have him think she's weird. So they're really overjoyed when he says he actually does wanna be their girlfriend after all, and so, now he has a few girlfriends still. And the jar is a symbol for their numbers; he threw out all the other numbers, and kept those few in a jar. So now the guy just ignores his dreams about breaking up with them.

Same thing as the last time I posted this stanza, except, now his dreams have finally become good dreams about staying with the girls. So he doesn't mind sleeping. :3
