Addicted.

She was in a dark place
A place she'd never been before
She began to slit her wrists
And to herself, she closed that door
She's blocked off the world.
She thought it would help
As she sniffed the marijuana
To ease away the pain
Do like her mama
She's still here.
She felt a sudden pang of happiness
And she smiled for the first time in a while
The pain continued to vanish
And she showed that beautiful smile
She wasn't really here.
She'd found a way to escape
And her smile continued to show
But her life began to loose it's shape
And her smile lost its glow
She's almost gone.
She continued to do the drug
And her life just became a haze
Even though her personality faded
You could see her soul in her gaze
She was still there.
She realized that this was just making it worse
And that if she didn't quit soon
She'd been in the back of a hearse
All around her, her life was strewn
She began to come back.
She attempted to quit
but the pain of reality came back
So she ran back to the marijuana
Now in her life, there was a bigger crack
She'd shut the door again.
She attempted to leave the enemy again
And she began to recover
She realized that
There was happiness to discover
She was almost back.
She learned that life doesn't just bring pain
It brings love && peace
And nothing is worth marijuana
Her pain began to decrease
Here she is.
She earned her life back
Though she'll never forget her crime
She can continue to fight back
And win every time.
