My suggestion to you is to not write a story for the sake of writing a story, but to write a story because you have one to tell. Until inspiration comes, then don't worry about it.

I know this seems really random and out of the blue, but that's made me wanna write my story a whole lot more. Thank you! Very Happy (rep coming your way)

I agree mostly with what Komoda said. :3 I do have some other suggestions to help you think of plots/story-lines. Smile

1. Try and think of something unique. Mutations? Are they going to be human?

2. Read a few books: sometimes those'll give you great ideas, even when they're not the same.

3. Exaggerate real life circumstances. I did this. nod I had deja vu: I turned it into a story called 'Replay.' It's about how you live your life over and over again, unaware. But one girl remembers her life, by a vital mistake one of the MindErasers made. Very Happy See?

4. Go outside and take some pictures, or just look around. That always gives me ideas. Smile

5. Wait, like Komoda said. Just wait until a good idea hits you: write when you feel like you have something worthwhile to write about. Smile

I hope I helped! ^^;

I can tell you that if it was not for freewriting (new idea every day) I would wait until inspiration struck. And I would probably have good stories because of it.

If you want to write a story for the sake of writing a story, which I do every single day, then think of something and write. Just freewrite. Once you're done you can either leave it ("I just wrote 1000 words!") like me, or find an idea in it and say, Hey, this might make a good story.

But otherwise? Just wait. Write a poem. Read books - good authors always apparently read tons and tons of books. Listen to music. Very Happy And when all else fails, just write.
