How to Make a Picture of Your Human Charrie
How to Make a Picture of the Perfect Human Charrie
Okay, so do you want to make a real life picture of a character for either a role-play or a story? I'll show you how in this guide!
For my example, I'm going to use a character named Ever. I use her in the DE.
Making the Face
1. First, I'm to think of what traits she has. All I know is that she has wavy silver-white hair and her eyes are deep purple.
2. Now, I'm going to mosey on over to this site here: http://www.morphthing.com/
On this site, you can morph together images of celebrities to make a whole other person!
3. I'm going to click "Start Morphing" and then I'll look through the pictures given to try to find someone with wavy, silvery hair and purple eyes. Since that's not likely, I'll just settle for someone with wavy hair, like Hayden Panettiere
4. Since not a lot of people have silvery hair and purple eyes, I'll skip that for now. Instead, I'll focus on what celebrities I think she looks like. To me, she'd be a combination of Keira Knightley and Miley Cyrus. I'll fetch their pictures from the site and select them.
5. Now that I have everyone, I'll click the "Morph" button.
6. That turned out great!
Special Effects
Hair
1. Now, it's time for the special effects! Since she still needs white-silver hair and purple eyes, I will head on over to http://www.picnik.com to edit it. Half of the editing features on this site you need to pay for, but I know ways to do the same things by using the free effects. You don't even need to sign up!
2. Once I've uploaded my picture, I'll select the "Create" tab up top.
3. Now, I should be automatically directed to the "Effects" section. I'll see a bar on the side of my picture. On there, I'll scroll down to "Misc" and select "Doodle". Doodle is right beside a small, thumbnail picture of a frog with a mustache and vampire fangs.
4. I'll adjust the hardness to 0% and leave the brush size however big I'll want it to design the hair. I'll also select what colour I want.
5. Once I'm done that, I'll test it out on the hair.
Can you see where I tested it? Yeah, it looks a little fake, doesn't it? But that's where the "fade" option on the sidebar comes in handy! It's in the same section where the hardness and brush size is.
6.
I made the fade 45%, and it looks a lot more believable now, doesn't it?
7. I'm now going to fill in the rest. If I make a mistake, I can always use the eraser. It's right below "Fade"
8. This is the finished process of her hair!
Eyes
1.. Now for the eyes! I'm going to click "Apply" (just beneath the eraser) and then I'll re-open "Doodle" again. Now I reset the hardness to 0% and select my colour.
2. Now time to test it. Resizing my brush to fit the eyes, I'll zoom in on her face to make it easier for me to be accurate. Now, without adjusting the fade, I'll make her eyes purple.
3. Now it's time to adjust fade. I also erased where I went out of the lines, and filled in parts where her eyes were normal. Now I'll select "Apply".
4. Time to scroll up until I find the "Boost" effect in the side bar. I'll select that.
5. Once I clicked that, the picture looked very vibrant. To fix that, I'll look at the box in between my picture and the sidebar. I'll select the "Original" tab and go over the picture with the brush until it's fixed. I normally max out the brush size when I do this to make it easier.
6. Now that it's normal, I'll go from select the "Effect" tab beside "Original". Then making the brush a smaller size, I'll do the same thing I did with step 21, except instead of colouring the eyes, it'll enhance them. You can also adjust the strength if you want the colour extra strong, or maybe if you want it less strong.
7. Now I'm done with the hair and eyes!
Finalizing it
1. Now that I'm done all the main stuff, I want her skin more pale... To fix this, I'll go on back to "Doodle". I'll do the usual steps with white, and then go over skin.
2. Another thing I realized is that I need the eyebrows to match her hair. To change the eyebrows, repeat the steps in the "Hair" section up top in my guide, except on the eyebrows, not on the hair.
Here's the finished process!
I hope this guide helped you guys! ^^

That's awesome. Lol, I'll have to try this some time! I'll probably just use Gimp instead of Picnik, though, cus I finally figured out how to recolor stuff with that. xD (Which we will see an example of in my blog.)

Re: How to Make a Picture of Your Human Charrie
Awesome! I did it! I only wanted to change the eyes, make the image sharper, and make the skin slightly darker, but I did it! [Though the eyes look kinda fake] This is supposed to be for my main character in my story, Lizzie: [A younger version, cuz she's 15]
From this:
To this:
Like I said, kinda fake looking, but whatever.

Re: How to Make a Picture of Your Human Charrie
Okay, now I'm mad. xD (Not really.) I wanted to do that! I hope you don't mind that I just post my version, too?
Re: How to Make a Picture of Your Human Charrie
Ooh, I like both of yours! Could one of you guys do the same colored eyes you just did, but for this pic?
I wanted to make her look younger so... Oh, and can you make the skin a touch darker, like the pic Arianna posted? Thanks, cuz I would do it, but I'd mess it up! lol!

Re: How to Make a Picture of Your Human Charrie
I could do it if I was on the other cpu . . . the one that Gri was on . . . but he's hogging it. xD And Gimp isn't on this one. I'll do it for ya if I can get to it in time, lol.
Re: How to Make a Picture of Your Human Charrie

Wow, all of those pictures that you guys did look great! I'm glad the tutorial helped, unless y'all are just doing it your own way.

Hmm, well I do it my own way, but the tutorial is awesome.
But then again, I'm using a graphic tablet, so it's different...
