Umm ... New?
Umm, hello, XD. I'm not very good with these introduction threads, but ... I'll give it a shot, XD.
I'm fifteen, female, and an aspiring author. Writing is my passion, as are animals (major animal lover, here. ^_^). My current writing projects include a Legend of Zelda and a Pokemon fannovel, as well as planning an original one. I also enjoy roleplaying, but the characters are critical to me. Having them feel real is my main goal. ^_^
Most of my stories/RP ideas usually do have a serious theme, though. Naturally, there are moments of comic relief or even forms of poetry involved. But, I believe I've droned on long enough. Feel free to drop me a line, I'm always open to meeting new people.
Over and out,
~ Selene.

Thank you, Ave. I appreciate it. *Huggles* And, some will probably be up fairly soon.
(It's actually a combination of Greek and Japanese, though refers to the mythological goddess. ^_^)

Thanks, Ratty. ^_^
And, yes, I love mythology too. (All kinds, though Egyptian is my favorite.)

"...welcome to this site then..." started the goblin who took special care to look after anyone who wished to write now, continuing "...there's a lot of talent on this site and people your age too, so my bet is that you'll be happy here..." , and with that the goblin went back to replying to notifications again, adding "...the secret in writing is to write for oneself as a "journey to self", if simply because most other motivations fail in the end..."

Selene nodded after a moment, though a faint smile played about her lips. "A pleasure to meet you ..." she returned quietly, though her eyes said more than her words. Curiosity was piqued at his phrasing choice. "It seems I'll have to look around, then. You present a very good point, as well," the young woman added, before briefly bowing her head.

Re: Umm ... New?
and with that, the goblin felt that he had made a friend then, explaining "...the real question here is one of uniform persona, that is, of being recognisable across sites...", the goblin paused for a moment, took a quick sip of coffee, and then continued "...a "live writer" is by nature someone who reposts across sites, in a context of air/edit/backup, for example I am across many many sites if simply because "posts are born of posts", as replies engage one to reply back do they not, but you'll need to store your posts too, being a live writer is very rewarding but it is not as easy as it might seem..."

Re: Umm ... New?
"We all have a persona, if not more than one. It is just up to the situation as to when they arise," Selene murmured, gaze following the curling steam of his coffee. "Perhaps we've all got some form of a 'live writer' at hand. Though, yes ... Banter does encourage responses," she added, smiling.

Re: Umm ... New?
(the goblin cheated by just reposting something because he was answering about four different threads at this point, but felt this one to be the most interesting of them)
repost from elsewhere, the goblin summing up a "live writer" in his view
"...what you have here..." the goblin started "...is simply a persona made up of four things then, "username" "avatar" "writing style" and "content"...", yet the goblin knew that it was all far too complicated to explain what "live writers" were about in one post, only that they tended to keep everything uniform across sites, perhaps as a self marketing ploy on the one hand, or more likely, just as something to keep things easy for themselves, "...well, the username has to be uncommon enough to turn up in a google search as mine does, thought not too difficult for someone to remember, the avatar, in my case a penguin, expresses both my current linux os and my position towards copywrite here, that I write for myself and am anonymous, a ghost writer then, whereas writing in third person simply forces the writer to choose a mask, a goblin in this case, which lastly leaves content, and content is the most crucial part of all four components, for without it, the others become meaningless..." oh and yes, the goblin had been right, he hadn't explained the half of it, which didn't matter of course because most people didn't read this far either

The young woman nodded in response, though clearly still intrigued. "Certainly true ... Without a name we are little. Whilst the term 'avatar' can differentiate quite a bit, yes, it is equally important. Content and style, as you said, are very crucial. They are very much so defining, and without, we simply blend," Selene returned, leaning back after a moment.

Re: Umm ... New?
"...you have to look at the way writing is going here..." explained the goblin again, continuing "...amazon sold more kendell ebook readers last year than it did real books, most readers are the exact same people who post in these forums, the ones that shy away from long winded posts, and perfect punctuation, preferring short posts with pictures...", in fact, the goblin simply understood that, as the persona become more recognised, the member outgrew the forum, it was just him or her on the internet with forums as venues so to speak, adding "...people even follow me across forums now, on some sites I can do one post to 50hits..."

Hey there, Selene! It's nice to meet you, and great to see that we've been getting traffic in from people searching for writing forums. My name is Akeria. I'm a mod here, but I'm pretty mellow, so don't worry about talking to me. xD
What other sites are you part of?

Thank you, Keria. It's nice to meet you as well. ^_^
*Nods* I've actually been looking for a good writing forum for a while now, but none of them seemed to be that great compared to TWIG. XD, okay.
Well, I'm actually part of quite a few different sites, but I manage to keep my activity level at a decent amount. Some of my more frequent ones include "Nintendo Pipeline", "Pokemon: Shadows of Johto", "Global Trade Station Plus" and "RolePlay Gateway". There are a few more, though. *Sweatdrop*
What kinds of writing do you enjoy doing, though? (And, I'm enjoying your poem so far. ^_^)

Re: Umm ... New?
Aw thanks so much, I really appreciate it.
Ah! I love Pokemon! I should join those.
I do a lot of different kinds of writing; I don't really subscribe to one specific genre. I like to write fiction, historical fiction, sci-fi, poetry and a bunch of other stuff. I'm kind of like... miscellaneous.

*Smiles* Same here.
I know how you feel, more or less. My main genres are Fantasy and Adventure, but my writing can pretty much be summarized as this: Go into a book store, clear out every shelf and genre, then put it in a blender on high.
XD, well, not quite, but almost. (No erotica from me. *Sweatdrop*) We both count as miscellaneous, though.

*Huggles* Thank you, XD. I sort of dabble in poetry, so I'm glad that you enjoy what I've put up. And, so far I'm working on the beginning of an original story (the idea is here), as well as posted the first chapter of a fannovel.
Do you have any stories posted, though? I'd be glad to check them out. Also, I'm considering taking part in the chapter-contest if it isn't too late to join. ^_^

Welcome, Selene! ^^ I agree with trying to make roleplay characters feel real - that's my goal, too, for just about every character I make. I'm looking forward to seeing your work, and perhaps we could have a roleplay some time!

Hello's. ^_^
*Nods* Same here, actually. As it is my hopes to be eventually a published novelist, and just in general writing, I prefer my character to seem as real as possible - Whether or not they're human. And, that would be great. I'll be looking forward to that. *Huggles*
