Re: The Voices in My Head
Time for more! ;D
The moment we were home, the phone rang, and I quickly answered it. “Hello?”
“Guys, I am so sorry,” Komoda said in earnest. “Edward, I hope you can hear. I just don’t get how Bruce could be so-”
“Rude?” I suggested with a snort.
“I’ll take that,” said Edward, wisely prying the phone from my grasp before I could say anything I would regret. “Komoda, it’s fine,” he told her. “No blood, no foul.” I snickered, remembering the line from the book. Haha, he was treating Komoda like Tyler! “Yes,” Edward continued with a humored glance at me. “Yes. Goodbye.”
The moment he pressed the end call button, I doubled over, laughing hysterically.
“I don’t see why that’s so funny,” said Edward, but there was a betraying glimmer of amusement in his expression.
“You haven’t read the books,” I said smugly.
He chuckled. “I practically am the books.”
“Hmm . . . my mom better have put Breaking Dawn somewhere safe,” I said, suddenly remembering my mom’s rude thievery. I scurried to where she had been reading, and there it was, placed upon our large windowsill. “Gosh!” I exclaimed with disgust, putting the book under my arm where it would be safe. “She’s so irresponsible!”
“It’s just a book,” Edward said, leaning against the wall.
I shot him a glare. “Like you would care - oh, never mind.” It didn’t matter so much, I realized, since I had him. For real. No imagination anymore.
He laughed.
“Well, I’m going to go upstairs and read,” I informed him, walking airily up to my room. He followed me, of course, however. I plunked myself down on the floor, and opened Breaking Dawn to the very first page. I read the title page very carefully, as well as everything else that came before the story’s beginning.
“Why bother?” Edward asked curiously.
“Dunno. Seems like the proper thing to do.” I was really beginning to become tensely excited; I couldn’t wait to actually start reading. Edward stared at me for a moment, blinking once, and then looked away.
And I finally got to the start of the book. I skipped over the table of contents, skimmed the quote, and began the very first sentence, right in the prologue:
I’d had more than my fair share of near-death experiences; it wasn’t something you really ever got used to.
My breath caught, and from that moment on, I lost myself in the world of Forks, Washington.
When I was finally done reading, six hours later, I stood and stretched. I’d ignored lunch for this, and had even eaten dinner in my room. But, finally, I was done.
Laughing, I commented, “Kinda freaky.”
“. . . Hmm,” Edward replied, looking me over with questioning eyes.
“Did you actually . . . see all this?” I asked, trying to keep my voice unjealous. “Or is that just the ‘real’ Edward?”
“I have the memories as if I’d read the book, but I didn’t actually experience it.
“Okay.” I nodded. “That makes sense. In a weird, twisted way.” I couldn’t help but laugh, grinning.
“Yeah.” He chuckled. “When Taylor finds her Edward, you’ll have to ask him how they ended up together. That I don’t know.”
“I wonder what happened to Bella,” I mused. “I wish Taylor’d told us . . . but she didn’t, and she won’t.”
“I’d bet she doesn’t know herself,” Edward laughed.
I nodded. “True.”
“So, anyway, I was under the impression that we had something to discuss?” He tilted his head as he spoke.
“Oh!” I flushed. This was probably going to be quite amusing on his part. “Umm . . . outside?”
He nodded, and we headed out together to stand in the backyard, behind the garage where nobody could see us from the house.
“So . . . um . . .” I slid the ring off my finger, and held it up to him. “As you know, about . . . this. The whole engagement thing.”
He smiled. “Are you adverse to marrying me, now that I’m real?”
“No, of course not! It’s just . . . you know this, so I don’t know why I’m explaining . . . I feel like you didn’t really have a choice.”
He laughed. “Well, in that case, may I see the ring for a moment?”
“Umm . . . okay . . .” I gave it to him.
He smiled, and then slid down on one knee. My breath caught, and my eyes widened. Was this seriously happening?!
“Shadow, I love you,” he said, his eyes smoldering fiercely at me. “I love you with every speck of my being, more than you know, much more than you seem to be thinking - now that I’ real. So I ask with all my heart - will you marry me?”
I wanted so desperately to say yes . . . “But aren’t I too young?” I whispered.
He chuckled. “Since when has that mattered to you?”
I considered it for a moment later. Was I throwing away my soul if I said yes? But then I decided I didn’t care. It would be worth it for him. “Yes,” I said, staring down at my feet.
“Thank you,” he said, his voice laced with gladness. He slid the ring back into place on my finger, and then stood. We stared at each other for a moment, and I blushed when I started to feel jealous of Bella - when it was just Twilight, at least. She could be romantic . . . but I was too young. My mom would kill me. Or did it really matter?
Edward grinned. “You know it doesn’t,” he said, and suddenly he leaned down for our lips to meet.
I didn’t have a reaction like Bella - except for a brief shock to remember how cold he was. I wasn’t violently struggling to hold Edward against me. I was smarter than that. But what I did do was throw my arms around his neck, and cautiously kiss him back - was I doing this right? He didn’t reply, so I took it as a yes.
Oh gosh, I was definitely insane. Kissing a vampire in my backyard, without my parents’ knowledge that I was even with another boy - or man - or vampire - or person. Yes, person. That sounded better than everything else. More innocent.
After a while, he gently pulled back. I reluctantly let my arms back down to my side. That was . . . perfect. It had been perfect. And while I wasn’t dying with disappointment like Bella, I knew I was sorry that it had to end.

Re: The Voices in My Head
I totally disagree with this line. XD
If this ever happened in real life . . . I doubt I'd feel the same way. XD

Re: The Voices in My Head
Nice Shadz. Btw, nice proposal. When me and Farid marry he'll give me a ring of fire though! BAM! That's 10x cooler than Ed's. Psh. Who cares about plain old gold??? xD

Re: The Voices in My Head
Might as well. XD Here we go! This is all that's left so far.
Later, I was sitting in my room when the phone rang. Again.
Sighing, I stood to go answer it, but suddenly Edward was handing it to me, his eyes shining - still not over the whole thing outside, I guessed. Dang, that had been fast. “Hello?” I said into it.
“OH MY EDWARD! SHADOW! GUESS WHAT?!” Taylor screamed.
“What?” I asked with a laugh.
“I HAVE MY EDWARD NOW! LIKE YOURS!”
“NO WAY!” I shrieked. “Are you serious?!”
“YES! Come over and meet him!”
“Okay! Edward and I will be right there!”
“See ya!”
We got off the phone, and then suddenly Edward had me in his arms with a grin.
“Hey!” I protested.
“I was under the impression that ‘we’d be right there,’ ” he said smugly.
“I bet that’s just an excuse. But I’ll take it,” I said with a grin. He laughed and kissed me again with his cold, heavenly lips before running out towards Taylor’s house, following the instructions in my head.
* * *
“Whoa,” I gasped, scrambling off Edward - Ed II - ‘s back when we arrived. There were definitely two figures waiting for us on the porch: Taylor, and the original Edward. It was so . . . bizarre.
Taylor grinned ecstatically as she walked over, with original Edward following her. “I think it’s about time,” she said.
“I’ll say,” I laughed, but meaning for me the now authentic engagement ring on my left ring finger. I didn’t bring it up, though. I wasn’t sure I was ready to, yet.
My Edward walked over to original Edward, and the two eyed each other. After a few moments, mine turned to me and smirked. “He’s really quite handsome, don’t you think?”
I rolled my eyes. “You already knew you were gorgeous,” I said with a laugh. “There’s no need to get cocky.”
“So full of himself,” Tay whispered to original Edward, who chuckled.
Then I remembered something, and turned to original Edward. “Breaking Dawn,” I said.
“What about it?”
“Were you there?”
A shadow crossed his eyes as he nodded. “Taylor doesn’t like it being brought up, though.”
“Oh. Well, um, I was wondering; what happened to Bel-”
“How ‘bout we go inside, m’kay?” Taylor inturrupted me, speaking a little more sharply then was necessary. She yanked original Edward in after herself, and I snickered as my Edward and I followed her.
* * *
So, later on, after we established that Taylor had found original Edward like I’d found mine, my Edward and I went home. I didn’t want to stay very long, because I’d been out all day, and right now I just wanted to go home.
When we finally walked in through my bedroom door, it was really hard to keep my eyes open. “I think I’m going to go to bed,” I yawned.
He laughed. “I’ll go wait in the hallway then for you to change.” He walked out, and I quickly changed into pajamas. It made me laugh to realize that I was in the habit of wearing t-shirts and sweatpants to bed . . . a Twilight thing. Just like Bella.
Edward was fighting a smile when I called him back in. “Very Twilight,” he agreed.
I grinned, and climbed up into my loft bed. I took a moment to fluff my pillow and make sure the blanket was properly positioned before reaching down to turn off the light and laying down. Will you stay? I asked.
If you want . . .
Please.
Suddenly, he was sitting beside me on the mattress with a smile, and I jumped. He chuckled. “Just go to sleep, Shadow.”
“You still promise you’re here to say?” I asked in a barely audible whisper, closing my eyes.
He kissed my forehead and brushed my cheeks with his fingers, sending a pleasant shiver of cold through me. “I promise.”

Re: The Voices in My Head
XD Nice.
Here's more!
I woke up, and heard muted voices below myself. Sitting upright instantly, I clambered down from the loft to find Edward and Newms talking. Newms, fully dressed unlike myself, grinned. “Hi Shadow!”
“What? Why are you here so early?” I groaned, rubbing my eyes.
“Oh, look!!” She darted over her backpack, which I noticed was propped against the wall, and took something shaped like a football out. Except it was bright red, and kinda sparkly. Thrusting it into my hands eagerly, she asked, “Can you see it?!”
“Umm . . . yes . . . but what is it?” I turned it in my heads, trying to make it look effortless; the thing was pretty dense.
“It’s a dragon egg!!”
“OH!” My eyes popped wide open when it registered. “Oh my gosh! Now I recognize it.”
She grinned. “I found it.”
I looked helplessly towards Edward. “Another one of you guys?”
He laughed. “More or less.”
“So are you guys still getting married?” Newms asked.
I grinned. “Yup.”
“Awesome! When?!”
“Ummm . . . I have no clue.”
“Oh, okay. Well, I’m gonna go show the others now. See ya later!” Newms grabbed the egg and shoved it back in her backpack, then darted outside.
I looked sternly at Edward. “You actually let her in so early?”
“Actually, your mom did,” he chuckled.
Rolling my eyes, I muttered, “Sure, sure.”
