Wait - Po was the red one, right?

I swam out to get a float, then once on, I paddled back to the hill, which was nearly submerged. I climbed on, pulling the float after me, and got ready to reach the ceiling.

Suddenly, there was a clanging inside the ceiling. A vent by the chain opened, and a fedora drifted down. “Hey! Give that back!” somebody shouted.

“Gangster!”

“Oh, it’s you! I’ve been wondering what you were up to. Now give that back!”

I handed him the hat, then when he asked what was up, I explained why the water was so high. After the tale, he pulled some pliers from a pocket, and used them to clip the chain. The weight immediately fell, bringing the dam up, and the water slowly drained from the room.

We climbed up into the air duct, then, and headed back to our room.

“So, you’ve got the key, right?” Gangster asked.

“Uhhh . . .”

“What are you!!!” I shrieked, scared to heck.

In response, the bared teeth turned to a grin. “I’m Monkey! I eat potatoes for a living! I live here, too - so I eat potatoes to live here!” The whole time she spoke, she was vigorously pumping my hand up and down. “But you TOOK them all-” Suddenly she stopped shaking my hand, and snarled at me. “Where are they?!”

I shakily pointed towards the cellar stairs, and then Monkey darted off and was gone - up in the real world.

Joker cackled crazily. “You’ve possibly unleashed chaos on the world, Po!! I’m proud to be your buddy.”

I wailed, “Oh no! What’ll Monkey do up there?!”

He grinned. “Well, I doubt there’ll be very many potatoes left in a few minutes.”

“Uhhh . . . no . . .” Hero said.

“OH MY GOSH. You IDIOT!!” I shouted, smacking him.

“Why can’t we just get back in with the air duct?” he said.

“Oh - um, well, because I said so! Now let’s go!” I angrily crawled down the air duct. It was such a pity he’d had to suggest that, cus of course now we had to do it, and there was no way I’d ever get credit.

We watched as our vent grill dropped down to the floor, and then Hero and I climbed back into the room - only to find a weirdo sleeping on our couch, a half-eaten pizza in his hand.

“OH MY GOSH!” Hero yowled.

I yanked him off the couch - it was the guy I’d been fighting at the pool! Then I pinned him against the window, cracking it slightly. “Who sent you?!”

He spat out a bit of pizza, and then sneered, “I’ll never tell you!!”

I threw him across the room, then ran over and pinned him against the wall he’d hit. “You idiot! It was Granny, wasn’t it?!”

He hesitated, then said - not making eye contact - “O - n - no,” sounding very suspicious.

I threw him to the ground, then we ran out and realized we’d never actually gotten a key in the first place. What a cruddy hotel! We ran across the street to Granny’s Garage.

While running, Gangster advised me that we should act like nut jubs to get in. So once we were outside the gate, we started dancing and wailing in some rain dance. Next thing we knew, a couple of Granny’s minions had shoved us each into individual rooms, separated, telling us nothing but dates and times. Then they left.

This was not good. How could we carry out our plan now?

Suddenly, a potato flew in through a window - not the window looking to some outdoor room, but a window in the wall, apparently connected to another room. “Hey, what’s the big idea?!”

“Pass it along! Pass it along!” came the reply.

I raced upstairs with Joker to find a much bloated Monkey - her stomach as big as a beach ball - eating the last potato in my room. She gave a shriek when she saw us, then gobbled it down and scampered out of the room.

“Oh no!” Joker gasped. “Quick, we gotta pass a message along! Tell everyone a potato parasite is on the loose! Meet me in your closet when you’re done - I’ve got an idea to catch her!” He dove through his window, and I through Mickey’s.

Mickey was sitting there, frying potato chips. “Mickey! Mickey!” I gasped. “There was a girl in the potato cellar and she escaped and ate all my potatoes and if we’re not careful she’ll eat them all!”

He raised his eyebrows. “Wow.”

“So, pass it along!” I shrieked. “We have to warn everyone! Make sure they hide all the potatoes.”

He nodded. “Got it!”

I dove back through my window, and into the closet. Joker was waiting.

“So, here’s what we’ll do,” he said determinedly. “All girls love tea parties, right? So we set up a little tea party in the hallway, with plates, and a potato on each plate. She’ll come and eat those, and then see another by your open door. She’ll eat that, and so on until she finds herself in the cellar - locked in for life.”

I nodded. “It’s a pity to waste those potatoes, but it has to be done.”

After a while, I had a huge pile of potatoes in my room, along with a note telling me why they were there. Just then, a paper airplane hit my head. Ouch . . .

I unfolded the airplane, and sure enough, there was something written on it. It explained how a monkey had escaped from somewhere, and was currently going around trying to eat everyone’s potatoes. “Keep all your potatoes under lock and key until further notice” was the last line.

Sighing, I shoved all the potatoes into my closet, and sat in front of the door. That should be good enough. But then, there was a weird smacking noise in the closet.

I opened the door with shock to find an ugly, short, fat Indian girl in there, gobbling down the last potato. “HEY!” I roared. I managed to pick her up by the collar, and throw her through someone else’s window without getting bitten or anything. Then I closed and locked all all three of my windows, along with the door.

Word got around that a monkey was on the loose, eating all the potatoes. I locked away my potatoes as instructed, when I heard Gangster shout, and soon enough, a little. . . monkey-thing? was through my window. She looked like an Indian girl.

“. . . I hate Indians.” I said.

The girl found her way to the closet, where I had hidden a potato, and she climbed inside.

“Go to Narnia!!!!” I shouted, lunging across the room, and locking the closet door.

I spread the word that I ‘got her’, and people in rooms all around shouted, and tried to chest bump each other through their windows. It didn’t work too well.

So, Joker and I set up our tea party. And the trail of potatoes. And then we waited . . .

A half hour later, there was no Monkey.

“I wonder what she’s doing?” I said, suddenly scared. What if there weren’t any potatoes left?

Suddenly, a crumpled ball of paper soared in through the window. Joker quickly opened it up, and read aloud, “The new new guys have captured the monkey. It’s locked in their closet.” He looked up at me with shock.

I frowned. Somehow, I didn’t think new guys woulda been able to properly contain Monkey. “I’d better go check it out . . .”

Joker shook his head. “No, not now! It’s too late. She’s captured; we can lock her in the cellar tomorrow.”

I sighed. “Fine. Then I’m going to go to sleep.” I shoved Joker back through his window, crawled back under my bed - it wasn’t over the door any more, so no worries about falling - and fell asleep.

I woke up that morning, with a big smile on my face. I looked through one window. Hero had his gun pointed towards his closet. I opened my window to talk.

“What’ve you got in there?” I asked.

“The monkey. I’m trying to lure her out, so I can kill her. Shh.”

I became quiet, then after a moment, Hero said, in the general direction of the closet, “If you feel like runnin’ away, you know I’d understand.”

But she didn’t, it seemed. Just then, there was a knock on Hero’s door, and in strode Pootnic, who immediately gaped.

“Hero?!? You’ve been in here one night, and you catch the Monkey!?!"

It was then that I remembered our deal with Cody.

“Crap! Wait, maybe I can help them through my DS.” I pulled it out, and started playing Mario Kart on Bowser’s Castle. Sure enough, there were clone troopers about.

I went around, running over all the other dudes, until power went out on my DS.

A man with white makeup, red lips, and long shaggy, dirty light brown hair walked over to the closet. He opened it, and screamed.

“It’s in there, alright!” he said.

Pootnic nodded, and whispered something in the other’s ear. Pootnic left, dropping a trail of potato’s behind him, while the screamer opened the closet slowly. the Monkey raced out, making sure to eat all the potatoes, and soon, Pootnic screamed, “I’ve got it!” We walked to his room, where he was sitting on a door in the floor that was Breakin.’

“Pootnic, get off!” I shouted, pushing him off, as monkey teeth bit through where he had been sitting. Gangster threw a grenade in its mouth, and once it went back under, there was a loud boom. We all cheered, and started hugging. After I hugged the guy with facepaint, I asked, “Do I know you?”

“I’m Joker!” was his reply.

Gangster and Hero eventually explained that some clone troopers would show up later today to pick us up from Granny’s Garage. I was glad, but rather disappointed to have to be leaving my new friends after not even a day.

We’d missed breakfast, apparently - everyone - so we all just showed up to lunch instead. I led Gangster and Hero into the cafeteria, where I looked around for Mickey and Joker.

“Hey! Over here!” Mickey called from the table they were at, waving his hand at us. Grinning, I led Hero and Gangster over, where we sat down.

“So, who are those goons, anyway?” Joker asked, leaning across the table to prod Gangster and Hero with a spoon.

“These are Hero-” I pointed at him “-and Gangster. They’re here to bust me out!”

Joker looked disappointed. “Aw, man, but think of what it’d be like if you stayed here! We’d have such adventures! Don’t you remember last night?”

I nodded glumly. “I promise I’ll come visit you all sometimes, though!”

Mickey laughed. “Let’s just hope they’ll let you out when you come back,” he said.

After a little while, the doors opened again, and a pretty, glamorous girl walked into the cafeteria.

So, this weird kid walked into the cafeteria. “HOOO-WEEE!” Joker screeched. “Something hot this way comes!!”

The girl marched over to slap him, and it was then that we got a closer look. She was short - about four feet - and seemed to be a young teen; she wore a sparkly yellow dress with matching shoes, her hair was short, black, and cropped, and she had green eyes - and even as she indignantly screamed at the Joker, she had this idiotic grin that reminded me of the monkey.

Then, she stomped away, and Joker quietly cackled. “That’s ma squeeeeeze!” he said, waggling his eyebrows.

Pootnic slapped him on the back. “Good for you, man!” It was then that he chanced to look down at his lunch tray. “Say, what’s this?” He picked it up - no wonder he’d never heard of it before, considering his dad! It was a little cup of ice cream.

“You’ve never heard of ice cream?!” Mickey asked with shock.

“Ice cream?” was his oblivious response.

“Yeah, totally!” Joker gasped. “Come on, try it man, you’ll love it!”

He stuck his face in the cup, and glomped the whole scoop. Then, looking up, his eyes seemed extremely happy as he licked the ice cream from his face.

“I . . . I think I’m in love!” he gasped, proceeding to lick the cup clean.

I groaned quietly, closing my eyes.

“I’m sure you two will be very happy together,” Hero said, sounding sincere.

Little did I know how serious my words would end up being.

Pootnic stuck his face in Mickey’s right after he finished, and demanded, “Do you have any ice cream?!”

“Uhhh . . . here?” Mickey gave it to him.

He immediately gobbled it down, and then screamed out “WAHOO! I’M IN LOVE!” He scrambled around the rest of the room, then, grabbing random people’s ice creams and devouring them all.

Joker was howling with laughter. “What a wedding!!” Then, he spotted the girl again. “Oh, hey, ma squeeze!” he commented, and then went over.

Gangster and I looked at each other, then followed.

“What’s her name?” I asked.

Joker grinned. “Webkinz Cullen. Her sister’s called Alice Hale, or something.”

Gangster chuckled. “That’s a retarded nam-”

Joker suddenly socked him in the nose. “Step off! That’s ma squeeze you’re talkin bout!”

“Gee, well, sorry,” he said sarcastically, scowling.

Then he continued over to Webkinz. “Heya, hot stuff, wanna know how I got these scars?”

“I’d rather put a structure of toothpicks in my mouth, causing scars,” she said coldly, but still with that idiotic grin.

Joker turned to us and winked, saying, “Oh, she digs me,” before turning back to Webkinz. “Well, what a coincidence!”

“What’s a coincidence?”

“See, one day, I took a toothpick, and did this with it.” He used a finger to pull the corner of his mouth back. Keeping his face that way, he said, “I did it on the other side, too.” Then he took his finger out, and continued, “And I put a little structure between them to keep my mouth pulled back. Then I glued it all in place, but I forgot about it. The next day, I took it out, and my mouth was SCARRED . . . stuck in place forever.”

Webkinz socked him in the nose - Gangster grinned. The Joker leaned back with the impact until he was looking upside down, and then straightened up again. He cackled wildly.

After a while of eating everyone’s ice cream, I had a very weird sensation in my stomach. Then I puked.

I let out a wail. “We can’t be over already?!”

Just then, a strange man walked through the cafeteria, mumbling some crud about ‘preparing the troops.’ He had long white head hair, and full gray facial hair. He wore a black outfit under a white robe, the open ends of which were tied together with a thin chain. I gaped at him - I couldn’t make up my mind! Was he Saruman, or Count Dooku?

But as soon as Saruman/Dooku appeared, he was gone, out the other end of the cafeteria.

Mickey came up beside me. “Whoa . . . that was their second in command! I wonder why he’s here? I’ve only seen him a couple times before, and it was always before somebody came to break a couple of us out.”

Just then, the man walked back in and clapped his hands three times. “Polka hour!” he proclaimed in a deep, loud voice.

Everyone around me cheered, and ran through the cafeteria doors. I was swept along with them, and soon I found myself standing in the center of the donut.

When we were out in the center yard of Granny’s Garage, we were all assigned instruments. I was assigned a drum kit with two big bass drums at my sides, two cymbals after those, a snare in the middle, and a kick pedal for a maraca.

The second-in-command dude announced that we’d be doing the song Detroit Rock City. The accordians would use guitar music, tubaists (Like Pootnic) got bass, I got drums, and Hero, along with a few others got vocals. It was the silliest thing you’d ever seen, but it was fun! Afterwards, we all were sent back to our rooms, but me, Hero, Mickey, and the Joker went to Pootnic’s room, where we drank shots of milk.

“Let’s hear it for another awesome polka hour!” Mickey said “Let’s have another round of applause!”

“On second thought,” the Joker said “Let’s just have another round!!!” and we all gulped down some milk.

It was then that two potatoes flew threw Pootnic’s window. We all ran over to see what was going on. In the yard, there were guys throwing potatoes everywhere, and using them to ‘egg’ the walls. Then, a stampede of guys ran down our hall, with potatoes.

“Grab a potato, everyone! “ the Joker shouted, and we all did. Or, a bunch of potatoes, really. Then we followed the stampede.

The stampede was pelting minions with potatos, and putting them down the garbage-chutes. Heck, it was the most fun I’d had in a long while. We went into the cafeteria, where there was a huge foodfight going on. The weird second-in-command man walked in, gasped, and said something on his walkie-talkie.

All around, for parsecs, space was clear. There was nothing but stars in sight. But just then, a fleet of Venator-Class Star Destroyers, carrying thousands of clone troopers, exited hyperspace. The ship’s commanding officer, Commander Cody, watched from the bridge of ne Venator, and shouted orders to the officers.

“C’mon, bring her into the atmosphere, we don’t have much time!” Just then, a figure stepped from the shadows.

“Is everything in order, Commander?”

“Yes, General. we will be at Granny’s Garage within minutes.”

“Good, good.” the General said. “Go prepare the troops.

“Yes, sir!”
