After the dust cleared, I sat beside Amanda, beginning to rub her shoulders. She smiled back at me, her eyes sparkling with delight. She lifted Kara into her arms.

"Lie down." Amanda demanded, her eyes looking at me compassionatly. "Are you feeling all right?" She asked, lying a hand on my forehead.

I shrugged. "You need to rest. I'm pretty much better." She lifted my head into her lap, moving my hair out of the way of my eyes. "How do you feel?"
"Now that you mention it, not that good." I admitted as she drummed her fingers on my forehead. "Sam? You may want to take Kara; I think Fang's sick."

"Shhh, Kara. Fang's sick, sweetie. I don't want you sick either." Her hand met my forehead, checking for a fever. "You're burning up."

I reached over and took Kara, holding onto her even though she was strugling.

I felt horrible. "Shhh." Amanda murmured, inching towards the cave entrance. "Can you fly? We can go back to the river..." I shook my head, feeling more nauseous by the second. "Okay."

"Oh, gosh. Come here." Amanda lifted her arms around me, standing up. "Shhh." She murmured, putting a finger to my lips. Somehow, Amanda managed to launch while carrying me, and we landed in a meadow about a minute away. Then again, it was probably at least ten miles away as well.
"Calm down." she murmured, lying me on the cool grass. "Get some rest."

"Hey, sweetie." Amanda stroked the little girl's hair, but kept her arm around my shoulders. "Hon, Fang's still sick."
