You may not put them in your badge slot - in any circumstances. They will be removed by a mod if you do.

Update by Akeria: Well, apparently we moderators can't take them out, but we will send you a private message if we find that your eggs are in your badge spot. Very Happy I've already sent out a couple, and they're not mean, they just correct you and explain the new rule a little better.
