The Dragon Emporium [Book 9] [ONE YEAR LATER]

Alice mumbled in her sleep and figited slightly, her hair falling in her face. A wave of paniced expression came over her face...she was having a nightmare

Noah moved so he was laying on his stomach infront of her "Can you say block?"

Casper walked over and sat down next to her on the floor, watching her curiously. "Alice?"


"Ba?" Rosie echoed, holding the block and blinking a few times, confused.

"Good girl," Heather giggled, bending and kissing her cheek. She shifted so she too was laying down.

She was really confused now. What had she done right?

Noah smiled "Good!" he said, kissing her forehead, then he kissed HEather's cheek

Alice let out a yelp, but she was still having her nightmare.

Rosie giggled at this and continued to chew on her block.

Heather also giggled, but then she sighed, "Ewe, Rosie, no, don't chew on the block!" She gently took the block away.

Well, at least, she tried to take it away. Rosie kept a firm grip on it; she whined and wiggled and kicked at Heather's hands. "Baaaaaaa!"

Casper jumped a little, eyes wide. He bent and with his finger drew a pitcher of water on her floor. Seconds later, there appeared on. He stood and dumped the water on her face.

{Aaah, mkaaaay....want me to use someone his age, or?}

Noah was suddenly gone, then back, holding out Rosie's doll to her with a warm smile

Alice's eyes snapped open "Ahha!" She said, her eyes wide and she was shaking with fear..and the fact she was now freezing cold.

"Sorry," he said, now holding out a towel to her, giving her a weak smile. "You were having a nightmare." He shrugged.


Rosie squealed, dropped the block, and wrapped her tiny arms around the doll.

"Wait a sec," Heather sat up and picked up Rosie. She squeezed her cheeks saying, "Rosie, spit--it--out--!"

She whined but spat out the little bits of wood she'd gotten off of the block.

Heather set her back down, "Daaaang," she giggled, looking up at Noahy. "Look like someone's teeth are coming in early and abnormally sharp."

Angel walked along silently, a sort of bored out of her mind expression on her face. She sighed deeply, glanced around, then kept walking. Was there anything to DO around here?!

"Oh" She said, holding up the blanket and the towel around her, her face a bright red color. She was in her pajama's, and she didn't like the fact that her door had opened..and that Casper was in here

"Woow..." Noah said, eyes going wide ever so slightly "She's gone be a handful when her powers come in" he laughed

Casper backed out of the room slowly, "Sorry," he said, his pale face almost expressionless. He shut the door and stood a few feet away from it, waiting for her to come out.


Heather giggled, "I know," she said with a little smile. "But how'mucha wanna bet this," she waved about her hand for a sec, as if to gesture to the ity bity pieces of wood, "is 'cause of the vampy in her?"

Rosie was now busy trying to chew her dolly's hand off.

Angel looked up to see this; she snorted and watched him, curious.

She soon came out of the door, wearing long sleeved neon pink shirt and white skinny jeans "Hi" she said, smiling


"Or the werewolf. Puppies are the worst at teething" he said with a joking- grin.

Casper smiled and nodded. "Sorry about that," he said again, shrugging. "You were having a nightmare." He shrugged once more, "Figured you wanted to wake up,"


Heather began laughing, "I remember when Bobby was a toddler," she said, "he chewed a hole through my diary." She rolled her eyes.

Rosie sat up and looked at Dada, "Dada?" she asked, looking up at him then the doll, as if curious about what the doll was.

"Thanks actually" She said, hesitating before giving him an awkward hug "The dream was horrible.."

"Madi was always biting. She bit a kid once when she was little, and drew blood. Must have been some poison on her fangs though, because he was sick after that." Noah said with a shrug "Thats your doll. Can you say doll?"

Rosie stared down at the doll for a long time. She twisted it this way and that; held it upside down, right side up, by its hair, played with its dress. Then she decided, "Doyie," she smiled and nodded and hugged the doll.

Heather squealed and picked her up. "You're close!" she cheered with a giggle, kissing her cheek. She glanced up at Noah, "How do you get her do to that?! She wouldn't even say 'mama' for me!" she laughed.

Casper hugged her back for a moment before pulling away. "What was it about?" he asked.

Noah shrugged, welling up with pride "I don't really know" He siad, still smiling. He finally felt like an actual father..

"People close to me kept dying.." She said, tears brimming her eyes "My brothers...my sisters..my cousins...you.." She said you so lightly, that he probably didn't hear it, but he might have.

[Good morning. ]

Casper tilted his head to one side. "How did we die?" he asked, blinking a few times and seeming calmly curious.


Heather giggled, "Well, whatever you're doing, keep it up--I'm sure Taylor or Corie'd love to hear her say their names. Right, baby?" she kissed the top of Rosie's head.

She smiled and giggled and hugged 'Doyie' to her chest, babbling in baby speak again.

Noah smiled "I will" He wasn't going to tell Heather Des purposed to Corie yet, he'd let Corie tell her. He ran his finger along Heather's cheek before kissing it.
