I won a few awards for essays in the 6th grade... one from my class (not impressive, there's only 20 of us) and I one in my division for the whole county for a different essay.

Um. . . Does Young Authors count? I got second three years in a row! And my essay got published in my school magazine and I got $250 and money off tuition 'cause it won for the whole middle school!
