The General's Journal for September 19
I'm going to brief you on the happenings of yesterday and the night before.
The night before was my first day of band, and I had to be in the lowest level, playing percussion. They stick you on the bells, instead of drums, and it's supposed to be boring, but I really don't mind too much, except for the fact that I'm not learning anything vital to becomeing a really fast drummer! >X(
Well, after that, which was really simplistic, I waited through the next band level, and after I put my book I was reading to pass the time away, I- wait, did I set up first or see- oops, no spoilers. Well, I'd either put my book away, or seen someone entering up the entrance hall. . . It was a girl. . . A particular girl. . . It was the girl I'm supposed to be obsessed with! Woohoo! But. . . apparently, she had a broken leg or something, 'cause it was in a cast, and she was in crutches. But I guess she was no lazy wimpy person, 'cause she still came! Bless her heart. XD So, we played, there was a song called Legend of Starved Rock which was a Native American type song, 'cause it started with drums that sounded like Indian war drums. (Oh, and these are not in order of playing list)
There was a song called a Lincoln Celebration, and there were three parts, Oh, Susannah, Nobody Knows the Trouble I See, and Columbia, the Gem of the Ocean. On Columbia (Abbreviation) there was a solo where only the first chair of first alto saxophones, and the first chair of second alto saxophones (That was me!) were supposed to play. Well, has anyone in a band seen those really long rests that tell you the number of measures, above a big black line? Well, this one had a big 'ol seven above it, and I forgot it was 2-4 time rather than 4-4 time. So, I counted the beats 'till the rest ended wrong, missed the beginning of the solo, and couldn't find a place to jump in! But it just goes to show that even as third overall chair, I was important.
We have a symphonic level song, called Chicago, and I cannot play it. I'm mad at our band director for it. We also have a few more songs, but I won't talk about them all.
During symphonic, my friend and I stayed, while Shad' played, and we talked. When 'she' walked down the hall, to the exit, my friend said "You'll make it! You'll make it somehow!" And I was just like, "That's not nice! You shouldn't make fun!" Of course, nothing too obvious. I bet he'd hate me or be extremely weird if he knew I liked her, they know each other. Well, some people like to play cards, and they made me shuffle their deck, because whoever shuffled kept losing. I wasn't playing, so it was convenient-for the players. Next time, I'll bring Fluxx, and it'll be awesome. Symphonic went 16 minutes over it's set time, 8:00-9:00 (I think) and my friend was angry,'cause he was hungry and wanted to go home. We sorta made up a plot to take over band, and make it end. One version involved using a snare drum to make them think there was a machine gun. I didn't really mind staying, but I just went along with him.
Yesterday, I was playing Star Wars Battlefront II during a garage sale. My friend told me that since someone fired the company Pandemic, so they couldn't make SWB III, they asked the Lord of the Rings guys if they could make a game, and they did, LotR Conquest, which was twice as awesome as SWB III would've been, so it has been named the SWB III. I hope they have it for Wii.
