Fading
As the Rainbow Fades
by Akeria (And my friend, but I don't know if I should post her name...)
(Maturity: Slightly graphic. Please take caution before reading)
Inspiration: The inspiration for this poem came from The Giver (I can't remember who wrote the book right now... J... something...)
The world,
A beautiful place,
I can’t imagine it,
A gray world.
A sun shower,
Passing through,
Leaving the rainbow,
Of life.
As the rainbow fades.
As the color turns,
To white from red
And gray from blue.
Sun glitter sprinkled,
On the soft hues,
Clouds overhead,
As the rainbow fades.
Like a rainy day,
Washing the window,
The colors melting,
Away from the sky,
The clouds lose their animals,
The darkness overcomes,
The sun not so blinding,
As on a summers day,
Listening to the color,
Like a vacuum sucking,
The dark gray engulfing,
As the rainbow fades.
The rainbows made,
A tinkling sound,
Deep in my heart,
Like bells chiming.
But now the black,
Engulfs all with a,
Thundering roar,
As the rainbow fades,
Looking through the window,
As rain turns into tears,
Crying as we realize,
The gray engulfs all.
Crying in my bedroom,
Kneeling at the door,
Hearing screams of terror,
Through the wooden floor.
Like smoke creeping,
Through the air,
Blotting out the light,
As the rainbow fades.
Watching through my,
Bedroom window,
Dead bodies in the streets,
The black is growing.
The gray engulfing,
The rainbow fading,
The darkness coming,
The children screaming.
The river of black,
Flooding the streets,
The water is seeping,
Under my door.
The darkness washes,
Over my feet,
Pulling me down,
Fading to gray.
Watching as I turn to gray,
Seeing my pigment fade,
Seeing the color wash out of my face,
Watching the rainbow fade.
I look in the mirror,
My eyes of dark gray/black.
My shoes of black and shirt of white,
But what’s the color of my hair?
Washing away like,
Dirt in the rain,
And even as the names,
Of colors fade away.
Nothing really seems,
To matter or,
Have any point,
Just blank and empty.
I don’t remember my grandpa,
I don’t remember my true mom,
I’ve been given to a family,
Who doesn’t know the meaning of love,
My memories are fading,
The days of hope and joy,
The days I want to remember,
Are gone to the black and gray storm.
My last night in heaven,
Seems so far away,
The gray clouds my eyes,
And the colors fade away.
A tear softly falls,
Quietly hits the floor,
It’s the last feeling I,
Will ever have.
My feelings fading,
The pain going away,
My freedom of speech gone,
To the wind and the moon and the rain,
Goodbye.
Hello.

Re: Fading
Good job! That's really creative; I couldn't have thought of that.
