"I'm not much of a singer, but I'll hum you one" he said, closing his eyes. He started humming the tune to an old, slow tune, stroking her air abesent mindedly.

Myrtle's body relaxed a little, and her eyes started to flutter closed. She curled up beside him, her forehead gently resting against his chest, and she quickly fell asleep.

Aveline sat up a little, propping herself up on her elbow. She wanted him to get his mind off of being sick. "I heard from Michael-- he walked in on Myrtle and Merlin kissin'." She smiled a half-smile.

"Seriously?! Merlin kissed a girl? He hasn't kissed a girl for 200 years!" he laughed, his voice still very dry.

Aveline's eyes bulged, and she laughed, "Are you serious?" She asked, her eyebrows raising. "She's never kissed a boy before." Note: Aveline didn't mention anything about her kissing a boy.

Aveline raised her eyebrows slightly, "That sucks." She said truthfully, trailing off into silence, before finally, she admitted, "I've never been kissed by a boy before."

Aveline blushed slightly, "My folks never let me hang around with boys." She said quietly, her voice having a slight country accent to it. She tilted her head at what he said,"Why is that?" She asked, smiling shyly.

At this, Aveline blushed even more, hiding her face from him by turning her head away from him slightly. "No one's ever told me that I'm pretty before." She said with a shrug, "Not even my own momma." She sighed quietly.
