I'm really close to writing a page-long rant about the Treasure Birds. 'Cause I actually put a lot of thought into them things, and no one gets it right.
But I'll save everyone's energy by not jabbering about my stories about birdies and paper dragons. And possibly others.
Hey, my favorite, my two-toned foxes (Um, if you've seen my adoptie concepts, you can deduct what I'm talking about), have a story that I'll probably post right when they're released, and I pray they won't be messed up like the Treasure Birds. They're two-form creatures, hatch from the same eggs. Like the birdies, and the birdies are messed up. (someone consult me if you don't get my foxes and their egg when/if you put them up, please.)
And I just decided to rant anyways. Fun.

I LOVE the Treasure Birds and Paper Dragons! What's wrong?

Nothing wrong with the dragons. They work fine. I just kinda hope people haven't made up weird paper dragon histories... see, they're animated from magical parchment or something of the like. But if they're not close to the parchment they were brought to life from, they shrivel and die. Hence why the adult is carrying the scroll in its tail. It's its life-force, essentially.

Treasure birds are programed weird. There was supposed to be one hatch and three adults, but Ari could only program two. So she made the scroll-adorning (yes, I have a thing for paper.) adult a hatch form.
And they're all the same type of bird. They just fancy different things. For example, the ones who hoard coins (like my siggy) might be attracted by their golden sheen. Diamond-hoarders, the other final stage, perhaps like shiny objects or the pretty colors a prisim-shaped one may cast. Ones who adorn scrolls have a thing for magic or literature and will read their scrolls to preform spells or be amused. And only the scroll-adorners can read. (Don't ask me how they figured it out.)
And people call them fifty-million different kinds of birds. They're not eagles, owls, or peacocks. (Though I'd think anyone who would think them peacocks are out of their mind.) They are none. They are just birds. Specifics? Owl-vulture-parrot things.

Those are AMAZING stories! I love them! You should write down the entire histories and post it somewhere in this section!

Since it takes me a while to draw them, I tend to think of stories for them. Depending on how long it takes me to make the drawings, they can be quick little things to in-depth histories.
I'd jab about my foxes, but they're not out yet and I don't wanna spoil stuff. (I think it's safe to say they're foxes because their egg is painfully obvious.)

I dunno. I just put a random bird there. Like I said, if anyone thought they were peacocks, I'd think they're mentally unwell.

I think the most obvious thing to call them is a owl, but I'll stop.


What if someone thought it was a TURKEY?! I'd be scared. xD

They look the most like owls, I agree, even if they're none. I can tolerate owl, but eagle ticked me off 'cause they don't even look like eagles.

Oh, wow. So would I. Hope they don't try to eat it. They'd think you were trying to steal their hordes and probably try to peck your eyes out. (That's a gorey thought. *shudders*)

Exactly. Especially since I'd discussed the name before, and explicitly called them Treasure Birds.

You know, I didn't know that it was changed, and got, like, 10, trying to find one. xD

Sorry that it's frustrating you, Kiri! I can't really do anything about the technical stuff, but I'll do my best to remember to just call your Treasure Birds birds. Or possibly owls, but nothing else.

No prob. Once they're switched for the new pets (speaking of which, do you know if we're getting any this month, since it's NaNo? I know Ari's busy writing hers...) and all the old ones grow up, it'll mostly be like it never happened. Save for breeding, once more reach adulthood.

Heh. While everyone else is novel-writing, I can scribble up a storm and have five billion extra pets done, since I'm not doing NaNo, and I won't have people to talk to 'cause almost everyone else is. But I've got a nasty case of Artist's Block (the artist's dreaded equivalent of Writer's Block) right now. Oh, and BMR.

Hmm... if I were to put Ori's journal (yes, she keeps one) on TWIG, where should I post it..? I mean, the paper dragon is entirely my creation, from what they look like to their stories (which I posted sometime earlier in this thread) but she's technically part of TA, so I'm not sure if it's Original or Fanfic...
And does anyone by chance know how to fix cookies on Firefox? 'Cause mine broke.

I'd put it under original, unless you were including other aspects of TA with the story, like, anything that's not just the paper dragons.

It'd just be a recount of her life, being "sparked" (the magic that brings them to life) and basically just what she does as a paper dragon. So I guess original?
What if I used other creatures that were mine? (Not that I'm going to. XP)

I think I'ma gonna open an RP now. People are bugging me that I should start (even though the last time I did and enjoyed it was back when the castle in the one I'm making was spiffy-new) but I don't like anything. Then again, the human ones are what's the thing here...

Yeah, that'd be original, as long as whatever creatures you were talking about were yours.

Yay, the new creatures are up! I gots me them.

Since they're up, I'm gonna blab about my foxes. (I call 'em all sorts of things... two-toned foxes, void/light foxes, which is the proper name, but mostly just "foxes")
These are the guys I was talking about earlier. They're rather simple. Except, depending on how it hatches, they look vastly different.
Now, don't get me wrong, they hatch the same exact way, it's more what happens before then. As an eggling (you know, a hatchling before they hatch) they absorb the energy the things around them give off. Depending on whether they absorb more positive energy or negative energy, they become a Light Fox or a Void Fox, respectively. Once they hatch, they will continue absorbing energy, but only that of which their kind was made from. (That said, a Light Fox will not take negative energy and vice-versa for the Voids.)
Temperament is also affected. A Light Fox is happy and hyper. They like to play. And then the Void Foxes prefer to go sulk in a dark corner. They're the "emotionless" counterpart to the peppy-happy ones, if you will.

And the other ones, I didn't have a name when I made 'em, let alone a story.

Yup. I've been checking every day because I wanted new pets, and then I looked, and poof! Two new eggs on the adopt page. I was kinda surprised to see they were both mine.
