Ester is hiking in the Everglades.She walks the flat path efforlessly,her twenty pound backpack no match for her crazy strong legs. She feels movement ahead and pauses. she listens cleanly, her dark brown eyes in concentration. Somebody is in trouble. Ester runs foward going off the path. Ahead in the grass is a bear crouching over somebody. The person is Gaby. He is frozen, dug into theground filled with terror. but then he sees Ester and his eyes gently plead with hers.

Ester has attended a 3 week intensive course i bear safety, and she knows exactly what to do. She shouts loudly, and the bear steps back, startled. she pulls out her bear pepper spray from her bag and starts spraying it like there is no tomarrow. The bear hesitates, and clearly intimidated by Ester's fortitude runs away.

Ester runs up to Gaby to help him up. He looks astonished. He glances at the fleeing bear, then looks back at Ester. His face filled with awe.
" Who are you," Gaby asks.
" I am Ester Sanchez."
" Ester you saved my life how can I ever repay you."
" It was nothing really, and you definetly don't need to repay me.'
"What about dinner and a movie," Gaby asks.
Ester's answer is in her smile. Gaby takes her hand and they walk back to the path slowly.
