It began as a normal day. The ThunderClan cats were up, and everything was fine. Leafpool, the pregnant med. cat apprentice, was busily sorting through herbs. I never knew anything was wrong. By Midday, I noticed that there were big clouds rolling in. After about ten, fifteen minutes, the rain was pouring down hard. There was already water covering my paws, so I knew that there was a flood. I cried for the cats, and we all piled onto a fallen tree. I didn’t notice Leafpool was having contractions. My contractions were coming, two minutes apart. I saw the makeshift boat carrying the ThunderClan cats. And I saw Leafpool giving birth, to my kits. So I leaped on the tree to help. We had just floated into ShadowClan territory. I saw the cats, and they needed help. Firestar was shouting, “Help! Help! Leafpool’s giving birth!” So, I leaped up to help. The first kitten was coming, and Leafpool began to worry. She was having contractions, but only two of three water breaks had happened. What if the kitten was still in the sack? I remember giving one last push, and a little gray tom was there. I was so relieved, but there were still two more. I was happy, but there were still more to go. I remember licking the kit backwards to get him warm. There was another kitten, and I helped get her out. I licked her backwards, too. Suddenly, the two kits mewled. They were fine. But now the last one. I was yowling to the other cats that there were new kits, and then, the last little tom came out. I broke the kitten’s sack, and he started to meow. I started to feel as though I had accompliced something wonderful. I saw Leafpool turn to me, and ask; “Do you want to be the godqueen?” I was so happy; I started to say yes, but broke out in happy tears. I was so happy; I broke into a break-down mode, and cried and cried. I was crying, too. I was just so happy that everyone was safe. And then, a miracle. The sun came out. Now, the three kits, Hollypaw, Jaypaw, and Lionpaw, live happily In ThunderClan. Their mother, on their birthdays, always tells them the story of their birth, and what a miracle it was.
