Okay, so I have NO clue how to correctly write songs, but I got these really cool lyrics stuck in my head, so I wrote them down.


I swore to myself that cloudy day I'd never fall in love
The pain of it all is too much to bear
It's the same old story everytime
He leaves her


But I turn around to see that certain sparkle in his eyes
and come to realize that'll never happen

You see it's all very complicated
Because things are never as they seem

Right things go wrong and wrong things go right.
There's no such thing as a rose without thorns

Oh how I wish there weren't


Yeah...that's all the further I got.

I like it so far!!

And writing songs really isn't that different from writing normal poetry . . . you can pretty much do anything you want. xD Although they're typically, there'll be a chorus, two or more verses, and a bridge, I've heard songs that were all pretty much just a series of verses.

I've heard of those before...but I do tend to use free-verse a lot ^^.

The less rules...the better. XD

Yeah, freeverse works just as well as anything. The main thing to me that makes a song a song is a tune; otherwise you're probably better off just calling it a poem.

Exactly. Which is hard for me to do because...I don't play any instruments. So I'd have to sing it. I'm not exactly good at that, either. xD
