Forbidden

Sort of just... felt the need to make it. The maturity level isn't really that high, but I don't really suggest reading it to a four year old. There isn't any fantasy.
Anywho, here it is. If anybody has a better title - please tell me. I'm awful at naming poems.. and stories.


Forbidden

People don’t seem to believe that we
Should be allowed to be together.
Nobody will let us be.
But I still try to make things better.

When they stare at us with disapproval,
I feel tears well in my eyes.
But I won’t let them fall. No, I won’t cry.
There’s no way we can compromise.

Why can’t we be happy?
Our love isn’t a sin.
It should be sweet, sappy.
It seems we will never win.

And still people won’t let us be with each other.
They tear us down with their claws.
Now I know that people can be evil.
And when they do evil, it’s met with applause.

It is love; it’s not breaking a law.
It’s love, not committing a crime.
I don’t see the point of bringing us down.
I don’t want to fall after such a long climb.

No matter how hard we try
No matter how much we commit.
It never is good enough.
We have reached the limit.

So, we can’t go on further.
We need people to go on our side.
Until then, we must run and hide.

For our love is forbidden.
Nobody will let us be.
So, we must stay hidden.
Until they allow you with me.

xD If anyone would read poetry to a four-year-old, I would question what our world was coming to.
