What is LOVE,
But a way to make your heart break?
What is LOVE,
But a way to show your affections are fake.

What is a TEAR,
But a drop of pain from your eye?
What is a TEAR,
But a drop from when you cry?

What is a CRAFTY SMILE,
But evidence of your deceitful joy?
What is a CRAFTY SMILE,
But evidence you are sly and coy?

What is POINTLESS CHATTER,
But proof you are not mad but happy?
What is POINTLESS CHATTER,
But proof you are annoying and yappy?

What is a FRIEND,
But someone you can truly count on?
What is a FRIEND,
But someone you will stick with all along?

What is a LIE,
But something the very opposite of something true?
What is a LIE,
But something that proves when you say it, I can’t trust you?

What is SILENCE,
But the very absence of all things that make sound?
What is SILENCE,
But the very absence of the loud noises of a crowd?

What is a QUESTION,
But something that is simply asking “Why?”
What is a QUESTION,
But a method you choose to get an answer by.

What is this POEM,
But something that I wanted to write and that I chose to do?
What is this POEM,
But something I wrote for someone to read and that person is you?
