I was kicking my soccer ball lightly around the dorm, careful not to hit any of the furniture.

Jake watched, a curious expression on his face. "You do that a lot, you know," he said.

Jake laughed a little. "Why?" he asked, smiling up at her, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.

She waited, patiently.

Jake had an amused expression on his face. "Eh?" he asked, yawning boredly and wishing he was doing something. "I'm sooooo bored," he moaned after a moment.

"Alright, then."

"What can we do?" he asked, blinking up at her.

"What do other people do?" he asked, tilting his head to one side.

"Maybe we can go exploring!" he said, bouncing to his feet.

"Everywhere!" He wiggled his eyebrows and forced his feet into his shoes. "Commmoon, I'm sooo bored!" he said, smiling pleadingly at her.

Jake, looking quite triumphant, beamed at her. "Alright, hop-to it, soccer-girl, let's go!" he said, bouncing in spot.

"I'm realllllly bored," he corrected, seeming to have the attention span that a child would have. Eyes round, he nodded like this: .

"Do you need me to tie your shoes for you?" he moaned, half laughing, half serious.

She took it back, and put it back into her bag. "So, ready to go?" she asked.
