A Question
At the young age of fourty-eight a man named Darrell Parks suffered a severe heart attack and died. Darrell had lived a marvelous life devoted to God, but a question always lurked at the back of his mind.
When Darrell found himself standing face to face with his creator he dropped to his knees and began weeping, for this was a moment he had waited for a very long time. "Father," He said. He could think of nothing else to say.
"My son," God replied with nothing but pure love. "Lift your eyes."
Darrell looked up at his maker and the question he had wondered his whole life worked its way to the front of his mind. "May I ask You something, Lord?"
"Stand up, My child." When Darrell rose to his feet God looked directly into his eyes and said, "You may ask Me anything."
After a moments hesitation Darrell asked his question. "If You knew how the world would turn out, all the hate, lies, murder, if You knew that Your son would have to die, why did you create it?"
God replied, "My dear child, because the love I have for you and all my children is worth everything. You make up for all the bad, and although you sin and there are consequences, I still love you and nothing will ever change that."
