Alissa bit her lip, hesitating when she said this, "Being a Shadow, something that others don't see, they can see things that others can't. Ghosts, demons, sometimes even imaginary friends. Mariah might be able to see what's in her room."

Alissa smiled a small smile, "Then let's go find her," She said, taking his hand and walking into the DE.

Mariah appeared in front of them, "Alright, let's go see what kind of thing is in Katie's room." She grinned. Rebecca had seen the two coming, and had told Mariah. She then headed off for Katie's room.

Alice was standing, well sitting, infront of the door, a terrified look on her little face. She had a bruise above her eyebrow, and was shaking horifficly.She was muttering something about a monkey pirate and a fly-lizard.

Mariah knelt down in front of Alice, a worried expression on her face. "I'm going to try to make them go away, okay?" She said, placing her hands on her shoulders.

Alice nodded with a wimper "Make bad friends go away" She said, working her little fingers in wierd ways.

"Sh..." Mariah whispered, picking up the nine year old, "I will, sweetheart, I will." She handed the child to Alissa, who carried her willingly. She gulped, and stepped into the room, looking around.

And there, like she said, were the two beings. Sitting in a rocking chair, making go madly, was a monkey in a pirate hat with a patch over its eye. It spotted Mariah and screamed. Next, there was the three foot lizard with a fly's head and wings busy off the floor, its claws glinting in the sunlight.

Mariah blinked, her eyes going wide for a few moments, and she clenched her fists. "I want you to get out of here, you don't belong, this isn't your place to stay." She kept her voice level, despite her bubbling anger.

The monkey screeched and stayed put, but the lizard-fly suddenly dissapeared

Mariah's eyes narrowed as she walked up to the monkey, "I'm your worst nightmare, you little piece of crap. I've asked nicely for you to leave; you want me to make you leave the hard way?"

The monkey screeched and finally dissapeared, leaving a cloud of smoke "Wh-why were they here Mariah? Why did my nightmares come true?" Alice asked with a sniffle

Mariah glanced back at her, indicating for her to wait a few moments. "I hereby banish you from this room, I order you to stay away from Alice. I don't want you to see her, I don't want her to see you. I don't want her to see you, feel you, or hear you. If you frighten her again, I'll come back, and this time, I won't be so friendly." And with that, she turned around, picking the girl up, "I don't know." She whispered.

"Sh..." Mariah whispered, stroking the young girl's hair in a gentle and comforting way, "If any of them come back, just come and get me, okay?" She told her.

Hope smiled happily "Really!?" She asked, her voice squeaking slightly, no boy had ever liked her before....or atleast they never admited it.
