He stretched his wings to their full span, feeling all of a sudden just like flying straight up to the sun. As if it wouldn't be really hard; he chuckled at the idea.

Suddenly he smelled a preyscent, not far off. Aquila flew in place, inhaling the air; which direction was it coming from?

"Something wrong?" she asked, trying to determine the expression on his face.

He shook his head and replied quietly, "I smell prey. I think it's over there." He nodded slightly to the left.

He nodded, and swooped down towards the scent.

The trees flashed away below them, until finally he dove down through them at the formerly oblivious herd of deer. They panicked on seeing the predator coming for them, but there was nothing they could do. His talons sank into one of the animals, and he lifted back out of the trees.

The deer was kicking and shrieking, struggling to get away from Aquila. But he bit into its neck . . . and then its motions slowed until it finally became still.

Wingless did the exact same as him, until she arrived beside him with the catch. "I guess were faster then them!" she exclaimed happily.

He grinned, laughing. "That's good that we are. Or we'd all go hungry!"

He laughed, and flew back down to the ground. This time he landed, placing his catch down beside himself.

Eventually he finished, licking the last of the flavors from his mouth. Then he looked over at Wingless to see if she was done yet.
