Pugs' Poems
Welcome to Pugs' Poems! Has a nice sound to it, right? Pugs' Poems. I like it.
Anyway, here are some poems I wrote. Some of these are school assignments, but most are not.
No title, using alliteration, or starting words with the same letter.
Slick seals slide
Slipping to the shore
Some sit still to soak up the sun
Some seals splash significantly
See seal silhoutettes from a sliver of silver star's shine
Slipping, sliding, spash in the sea
Skiddish seals swim suspiciously, slinking slowly to the sand
Starving seals shop for salmon
A scrumptious snack to swallow
Stylish seals swim to the salon
Satisfied seals smile
It's more for young kids, but I put a lot of effort into it. Tell me what you think!
This one is called That Girl.
Midnight
Coming around like a train
Always on time
Never a second late
Eleven fifty-nine, one minute to go
That Girl sighs,
"Not enough hours in the day.
It's all so perfect,
But it soon goes away."
Shout to the moon
Whisper to the sky
Try to think that everything will be fine
Closes her eyes
Starts to dream
Washing away
Start a new day
Where everything just might
Turn out right.
This is a poem based on an idom, called Barking Up the Wrong Tree.
You’re barking up the wrong tree
You don’t understand me
Not seeing in perfect clarity
To get to know me you need the key
You think it’s the truth but it’s just as lie
Think we’re seeing eye to eye
Never trust anyone, because rumors fly
Not going to let this one slip by
I’m a diary with a closed lock
The girl that people like to mock
If you want to be let it, do more than just knock
Any of your words I’ll just block
You’re barking up the wrong tree
You don’t understand me
Not seeing in perfect clarity
To get to know me you need the key
I'm just writing whatever pops into my head.
The Highest Apple
They say,
"Be yourself!"
Then who should I be?
I feel as I don't
Even know me
I'm just a girl
Forgotten, gone
Alone running a race
And still haven't won
Highest apple in a tree
The one that nobody ever sees
When they say,
"Be yourself!"
I'm not sure what to do
But maybe someday
I'll learn what is true
Imagine
You don't know it
But I love you
Your hair, your eyes
Everything you do
Imagine something, you and me
No longer just 'she'
But someone with a name
And a reason to be
This poem is about graduating and everyone is going their seperate ways. *tear, tear*
Finally?
The time has past
And now it's gone
We've been waiting
For so long
Now this day
Has finally come
And there's not a dry eye
On anyone
We're leaving this place
And then it's the end
So we go on
And start over again
Yep, it's for my story.
I hope you enjoyed my poems! Adios!

I agree with Shadow, I liked That Girl the best but they were all awesome! You have a large vocabulary, and all your poems leave pictures in my head.

Re: Pugs' Poems
Thanks everyone! That's pretty ironic that you say that, Shadow and warmblood, because I wrote that's the oldest one I have on here!

Re: Pugs' Poems
Thanks, Shadow.
iGri- It's not about apples; it's about people. The whole apple thing is an analogy. xD It comes from this quote:
“Girls are like apples...the best ones are at the top of the trees. The boys don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples that are on the ground that aren't as good, but easy. So the apples at the top think there is something wrong with them, when, in reality, they are amazing. They just have to wait for the right boy to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree...”

OMG, isn't that the Fall-Out Boy guy? XD Or somebody?
Lol, I think that's an awesome quote, though. I hope Jamie's brave enough . . . ^^ (Considering I'm even anywhere near the top. xD)

Actually, I think what Pete meant by that quote is...iGrievous wrote:PugsRock wrote:Thanks, Shadow.

That there are girls out there who flirt with every guy they meet (The rotten apples). They're really shallow and self-centered but for some reason a lot of guys like them because they're easy to get.... Therefore they'll say yes to anyone who asks them out.
Then there are girls who actually have depth to them (The apples at top). Who are smart, talented, and beautiful. But not a lot of guys like them because these girls actually have morals and won't get with any guy they meet. So if they ask them out, there's a chance they'll get rejected and no guy wants that.
XP That's what I got from that quote, anyway.

I love your poems, Pug! Especially "That Girl" and all of the apple ones. I really like the Pete Wentz quote, too.
