I watched as the smile
Fell from your face
It was there and then gone
Without a trace

I didn't mean to
It really wasn't planned
It was so unexpected
It's hard to understand

I hate to know
That's it's all my fault
The plans that you had
Quickly came to a halt

I watched as the officer
Told you what happened
The horrifying tragedy
You couldn't have imagined

I thought that the man
Just wanted to play
So I took his hand
It was my last day

I wish it hadn't happened
The way that it did
I wish I could change it
I was only a kid

The person who did this
Deserves to pay
Deserves the worst
For I died on that day

I stand from a distance
And watch as you cry
"I love you, Mommy."
It is my final goodbye
