The Glint Of The Moon *In writing*

-Preface-

Cyber ran forward, trying to get away from the busy streets and into the forest. She began to shake, her eyes blurring with tears, whether they were from anger or despair, she wasn't sure. Just as she emerged into the forest, she exploded, her clothes shredding as she became her 'other' self. A large black wolf with muscular shoulders emerged in front of Cyber, "Who are you?" He snarled. Cyber took a step back with a low growl, "Cyber." She replied coolly. He stepped forward, "So, are you here to join us or must we kill another?" Cyber stepped back again, realizing she was emerging from the forest she stepped forward again, standing nose to nose with the other wolf, "I'm not scared of you." She growled. The large black wolf bunched his back legs and sprung. Cyber, being smaller in size and quicker on her feet, leaped to the side, turning to grab the black wolf's tail in her mouth. She yanked back hard, digging her claws into the dirt. The black wolf let out a yelp and a whine and turned, grabbing Cyber's muzzle, he twisted mercilessly. Cyber yelped and fell back, releasing his tail. "You're quick and you're strong, but you're not smart. Join the pack, I could teach you so much." The black wolf said. Suddenly, or maybe they'd been here all along, a dozen pairs of eyes flashed in the shadows. Emerging, were 12 more wolves, they're pelts varying from white to black to gray and brown. Cyber, feeling intimidated and obviously beaten, agreed, "Fine. I'll join your pack." The large black wolf smiled, his eyes shining as bright as his teeth as he smirked, "I'm Onyx." He introduced himself then the pack. Cyber sat down, closing her eyes, defeated.

-Chapter 1-

Cyber or known as Casey to her human friends, pulled out her books and began to walk to school. Her long brown hair flowed behind her as she swept her backpack over her shoulder. She walked with a proud gait, her head held high and her chin raised defiantly, as if she was daring anyone to cross her path. A tall, broad-shouldered man walked up behind her. He jogged up to her and smirked, "Remember me?" She took a good look at him before shaking her head, "I can't say I do.." He chuckled, leaned in, and whispered in her ear: "I know what you are." Casey snorted, grabbed his leg, pulled it out from under him then kicked his jaw upward. "Well, if you do know anything about it, keep it a secret." She growled. The man just lay there, dumbfounded. Casey smirked and walked towards the school. One man was watching out of his window, staring at her with wide eyes, she turned, looked at him, and grinned, showing sharp pointy fangs. The man stumbled back and ran. Cyber turned and began to continue toward the school, stopping short as she found herself facing the 12 pack wolves, in human form. She spun around and looked at the muscular man she had kicked. He smirked again, "Now do you remember?" Cyber nodded, "Onyx.." She spun back around, all the humans advancing on her. She jumped forward, taking two out easily by snapping their necks. She eventually got all the way through the 12 humans and turned to smirk at Onyx. "Oh, this isn't even the beginning of your troubles. Good luck." He turned and walked away. Cyber turned, her eyes wide with fear, but also her body shaking with rage. She couldn't morph here..She began to run, faster than believable. She rolled into the cover of a bush just in time. She transformed into her animal side, a large brown wolf with hazel eyes and a scar reaching around her front leg, she bore that scar as a human to, on her left arm. She changed back into a human once the rage had bubbled out. She stood up and stroked her scar, her eyes tearing up again. He had given her that scar. The only one she had loved, and she thought he had loved her too, then he turned on her. He turned on all of them. Cyber, her sister Layla, her brother Michael. He changed..Cyber sat down, picked up her cell phone off the ground and called the school, she mimicked her dad's voice, saying she was sick. She hung up the phone and set it on the ground. She turned and lay on her side, wrapping her arms around herself as if that could protect her from everything going wrong right now. She began to sob, her tears brimming over. She sobbed again, stroking her scar. She stood up, walked into the forest, climbed up into a tree branch and cried. She didn't know how long he was there, but when she looked down, there was a tall, thin man with wind-blown blond hair and blue eyes. She looked at him, her voice muffled by her arms, "What do you want?" She asked, glaring over her tears. He walked up beside the tree she was in and stroked her leg, "I just want you to be happy, why do you keep crying over me?" She looked down at him and shook her head, "I don't know..you betrayed me..I should hate you." He nodded in agreement. Then she continued, "But I can't. I still love you.." He shook his head, "You can't.." She nodded, her tears brimming over the top again, "But I do."

-Chapter 2-

The next few days were torture. She couldn't get him out of her mind and by him, she meant Camryn. Yes, Camryn, the tall blond with the irresistible blue eyes. "No, stop!" She yelled at herself, closing her eyes. She layed back in the bathtub, resting her head. She licked her lips, thought they were chapping and scarring from her biting them so hard and often. Cyber shook her head, "I hate him. I hate him. I hate him." She repeated quietly to herself, turning it into a chant. She got out of the bathtub, wrapped herself in her cotton robe and put her hair up in her towel. She sat down on her bed, crossing her legs. She layed back, staring at her ivory-white celieing. A knock at her door made her look up. "Come in." She sighed, pulling on her pajamas. She took the towel off her head and shook out her hair, ready to begin the hard task of brushing it. She looked up at the figure who entered the room. It was Camryn. Cyber's eyes dropped as he walked in. "You don't look too happy to see me, and I don't blame you. Honestly, you're brother and sister almost ripped my head off when they saw me standing at the door. They didn't want me to see you, said you were in a frail state, and I'd only make it worse, but I wouldn't take no for an answer, I couldn't take no for an answer. You know why?" He asked, his voice soft. "Why." I asked, eyes dull and depressed. "Well," Cam looked down, blusing, "I...I love you. I didn't think I did, or maybe I didn't want to believe it, but I do." He said weakly, "I love you." He said stronger this time. Casey's eyes flashed wide, "What?! You just told me to get over you a few days ago!" Her jaw dropped. The next thing she knew, Cam was beside her, "I know, I wanted you to hate me. Make it easier for me to let you go. But you made it hard, and I love you." He repeated those three words quite often lately. Casey turned her back on him, "I don't know." Cam sighed, ducked down on one knee. He grabbed my hand and kissed it gently. He pulled out a box and opened it slowly, he was trying to make it dramatic. "Casey, I mean Cyber, will you marry me?" Casey's eyes dropped down at the ring, her jaw gaping. "I" She started, "Yes, Cam." Her eyes teared up. Cam put the ring on her finger gently. He wrapped his arms around Cyber and hugged her. Cyber pulled away, then slowly gave up and wrapped her arms around him.

-Chapter 3-

Camryn pulled back, looking into Casey's eyes. "So, why did you break up with me in the first place?" He asked. Casey's face darkened, any sign of happiness disappearing. "You cheated on me, Cam." Camryn shrugged, "Only because you cheated on me!" Casey pulled back, pushing his arms away, "What are you talking about? I didn't cheat on you!" Camryn rolled his eyes, "Whatever! I saw you and that nerdy guy kissing!" Casey's mouth dropped, "You're kidding! We were in a play for drama class! It's called acting!" Cam lowered his eyes, "Oh..well, you never gave me a chance to explain! You just left." Casey's mouth dropped open, "Like you wouldn't have done the first thing in a second if we were in each others place." Casey shrugged, "But I guess, I should have let you explain, but it just hurt too much..."
