I gave her up on my own (True story)

I'd seen her before
just not really
give her much thought
one day
she just appears
out of nowhere
She acts
oddly
strangely
is that normal?
We trade a few laughs
and
I
Walk away.
I didn't know
what she was doing
but now I know.
She wanted to be
my friend.
I didn't know.
The next time we
met
she tried even harder
she made jokes about
boys and
crushes.
It made me
Uncomfortible.
I walked away.
I didn't know.
The next time we met.
She acted so timid
and I finally noticed
what she wanted.
She wanted to be my friend.
And I accepted.

We started to meet
almost every day
at the same time
same place.
Where we went was unperdictible.
Maybe it was
to a big competition
Maybe it was
outside the city limits
Who knows?
Who cares?

She was bad at dancing
but
she would get up there anyway
She was bad at singing
but
she would burst into song
in front of a crowd
just to amuse me.
If I had a bad day
she would always find
a way
to make it better.

and then
she started
to lose her touch.
My friends
told me
"you don't need her
She's so stupid
anyway
So childish and
dumb"
So
I stopped playing with her.
Childish?
2 years differance.
That made her childish?
Same height as me
but that's the extent of it.
She dislikes things I love
and
vise versa.
But she wouldn't accept that we were
moving appart.
She stayed the same.

when someone stole
from your favorite store

put the possession
in your backpack

when they caught you
They shook there heads and asked
"why would you do this?"

I remember it clearly
and now
it brings me laughs.

when you weren't acting the same
we thought you
were just being funny
but then
that night
it got worse
There you were
lying on the ground
Helpless
Alone
Shaking
Muttering to yourself
Calling for help.
I wasn't sure what would
become of you.
I remember how
you forgot your name
at the time I thought
It was funny
but now
It brings me grief.
I remember how
when you got let out
your eyes were
glazed
and
out of it
but you had this
triumphent smile.

I remember you saying
"I'll conquer the world!"
and changeing your attitude
to make me laugh.

I remember
going to a store
and
you walked into a wall
I laughed and laughed
and you deiceded
to pretend to act stupid.

Then
My friends pounced again
"What are you doing with her?
I thought you
gave up that
kiddie stuff
you do with her"
So
I gave you up on my own.

But sometimes
you call to me
"Come play!
Come play with me
I'll make you laugh
I promise"
And sometimes
we go to a store together
And sometimes
You walk into a wall
