I ran out to the campus, and slid against an oak. That. That little. Couldn't he see that Alexis needed friends? Not some over-protective guy who hovered over everything you did? I cradled my head in my hands, tears streaming down, hitting the grass. They sparkled up at me, like so many crystals caught on a strand of pure, bright green silk.

I raised my head. Glaring. "Why would I try to work with some total..." I bit back my profanity. "I can't stand him, because he's some idiot. Totally heartless and oblivious that his sister has a life too!" I drummed my fingers on the root of the oak. "He's not some six-pack body guard, ready to take down danger." I got up. "You can choose whoever you want." I walked down the slope, kicking rocks out of the way.

" One: I have no sibling. I lied. Two: What do you care?" I snapped "Why is my life so important to you?"

My face muscles twitched. "I give up. You can have her." I took my ring off and threw it in front of me. it formed a portal.

"Meluu!" I sobbed. "Alexis, give it up. This isn't going to wirk." And with that, we walked home in silence.
