Days Go By

Days go by and things will change
Like an autumn leaf turns from green to brown
Days go by and life moves on
At the end of the day the sun still goes down

Weeks go by, yet nothing's changed
Summer won't let the leaves turn color
Weeks go by and you haven't moved on
The last sunset left no room for another

Months go by, still things are the same
It's as if you're stuck in one season
Months go by and your heart starts to sink
You just can't move on for some reason

Years go by and little has changed
The leaves are just barely beginning to turn
