Recycle newspapers/cardboard- 4/20/10 and 4/27/10
Instead of throwing old papers out, I recycled them instead. I learned that it is just as easy to recycle as it is to throw out items, because my neighborhood has a recycling service. It is important to our planet because the papers can be reused and just not thrown away.

Recycle glass/aluminum/plastic- 4/20/10 and 4/27/10
I recycled our glass and plastic items instead of trashing them. I learned that it is not hard to think about what to recycle and how it can help the environment. It is important because the glass and plastic can be reused to remade, and can save both the companies and the consumers money.

Clean path- 4/18/10
My two friends, along with myself, went into a path in the woods near my house to pick up trash. I learned that, since the path is behind some houses, a few people dump their trash there, and it’s negatively affecting the environment and the organisms in it. It is important because if the trash is removed, the animals won’t be able to eat it, and the path is cleaner for others.
Unplug appliances- 4/15/10 - 4/21/10
When I wasn’t using appliances, like the wall chargers for my iPod and cell phone, I unplugged them from the electrical outlet. I learned that if you leave appliances plugged in unnecessarily, then the electricity is still flowing through them. It is important because less electricity is used, and it also saves money.
