Violet

The music was booming loudly from the house. It was about midnight and there were over fifty kids at the mansion party that the rich kids were throwing. Violet was part of that incrowd. Dating, gossiping, partying, and having fun. One of her friends threw this crazy party while their parents were away in Florida. But everyone else here was still in California. "Hey everyone!! Come get some drinks!" someone yelled in announcement. And most of the underaged kids came tumbling into the kitchen. Violet stayed with her boyfriend, sitting on a couch. "What losers," David laughed, his arm around her waist. She laughed as one guy came walking out with two cans in his hands. "I'll say. We're not gonna be illegal tonight," she laughed playfully.

After another hour or so a few kids were drunk. One of them was past out on the floor and no one bothered to move them, so they stepped over him. "Ew. How disgusting," Violet snorted at one guy who spilled the drink on the floor. "Oh come on. Lighten up. We're at a party," David smiled, kissing her. Violet pulled away smiling. Suddenly some girl started dramatically screaming. Violet whipped her head towards the bloody murder scream. There was smoke coming from the kitchen. David jumped up and ran over to the kitchen to see what was going on. Violet glanced around as she smelled fire. Some kids frantically ran out the door. Violet shoved through the crowds of people to find her friend. "Victoria!!" she screamed. She was the owner of this party. Violet ran upstairs. She saw Victoria with her boyfriend, kissing. "Victoria!" she yelled. The girl looked over at Violet with irritation. "What?" she spat. "There's a fire!" Violet exclaimed as Victoria immediately ran with her boyfriend downstairs. Violet looked through all the rooms upstairs to make sure everyone was out.

"Looks good," she whispered to herself. "Violet!" David called as he ran upstairs. She turned to see him, looking slightly sweaty. "Come on! The house is burning fast!" he yelled. Violet ran over to him. They ran through a room as it suddenly felt hot in this room. The walls were going up in flames. "Oh crap this room is above the kitchen!" David pointed out as he looked for another way out. "What do we do?" Violet asked, running around. "Find a way out," he said. Violet found the door they came through, but just then the a bar of wood collapsed infront of it. Violet screamed as some embers shot up. All the exits had been blocked. "David," she cried, hugging him tightly. "It'll be okay... It'll be okay," he said softly into her ear. So they stayed there, hugging each other tightly...

Violet blinked as she opened her eyes. She was in an almost solid white room with some stiff clothes on. She looked around. "A hospital..." she mumbled to herself, noticing that she was hooked up to the machines. Violet looked at her skin. Her skin was burned. She panicked, her heart beat increasing. A nurse came in quickly. "Calm down, Ms. Moon!" she said in a soothing voice as she checked the monitors. Violet felt dizzy. "Are you alright?" the nurse asked as Violet fainted onto her squishy pillow.

--3 years later--

My ugly skin... My bad lungs... No wonder I'd never be accepted into the popular group again... She sat on the floor in her room with the blinds closed. Violet had been skipping school a lot, worried that people would stare at her ugly scars. She coughed. Ever since the fire, her lungs had been very bad. Violet also didn't talk to many people now. She would go outside at night, so the shadows could hide her hideous scars. The sun began to set as Violet slipped on some shoes. She peeked out the window and saw the sky turning to a purplish blue. She slipped out the front door and put her hood on, walking down the street. She never knew what happened to David, or Victoria. Maybe they... didn't make it... she thought, her eyes slightly watery now. If they are still around.... do they even care about what happened to me? Probably not... They're too busy with their fashion to care... Violet had wandered away from the city, ignoring the eyes of those who stared at her shadowed out face. She tripped suddenly, but never felt the impact. Just cold water splashing her face as her hood flew off and back onto her back. She curled up in a ball waiting for a splat. But instead, it was a splash. She swam to the top, realizing she was near a waterfall.

"Weirdness." Carissa smirked. "Homemade Profiteroles," she ordered. The waiter walked away. "Not weird," he chuckled. "So what are we gonna do after we leave?" he asked.

"Nu-uh. I won." he chuckled, dunking her head in the water. Alice popped back up. "Oh Jasper... You're so so.. SO wrong," she laughed shoving him slightly. "Let's go the beach now. After all, I said we were gonna go to both," she chuckled, hopping out of the water.

I saw a girl walking around, who looked confused. "Hey... You okay?" I asked uneasily, wondering if she was knew. It was unclear whether she had just fallen from the waterfall or not, though.
