Let's lick the sun
and run unscathed.
Whisper beauty in
my ear, of cloud-
weaving elephants
and spiders that
perspire children's
dreams. I wonder
if yesterday will
be as good as
tomorrow was.
You said my
shoulders were
as beautiful as
my words, but
I didn't believe you.
So tonight will
become tomorrow
without you. I'll
paint it on your
soul so I won't
forget.
