Disney Generation?
So I was thinking something.
You guys know all those classic Disney movies, right?
The Lion King. The Little Mermaid. Aladdin. Beauty and the Beast. Peter Pan.
Etc, etc.
Well I realized they all came out around the 1990's. Which means most of us and the people we know were kids when they first came out.
But what about the kids now? Do they watch these movies?
So, do you people think that we were like the "Disney Generation" or do you think these movies are so classic that they'll still be watched by children 10, 20 years from now?

Re: Disney Generation?
I just watched Mulan a couple of weeks ago, and people in my school always want to watch classic Disney movies. But for comparision, when my grade (9th) had a field trip, some people sang classic Disney songs on the bus. But when my brother's grade (4th) had a field trip, they song 'popular' rap and pop songs. So it does seem like we're the Disney generation. I'm sure that the big Disney movies will be talked about in the future, and the stories will be told, but will every household have all of the classic Disney movies? I doubt it.
Personally, I loved Pocahontas when it came out. I think I was 3 or so. That and Sleeping Beauty were my obsessions.

Re: Disney Generation?
I used to be obsessed with Peter Pan. xD I watched it so much the tape got kinda screwy and we needed a new one. That happened like twice. xD And I always made my dad pick me up and "fly" me around the living room when they flew to Neverland. And then I made him rewind and help me fly again. xD
Anyway, I feel that these new Disney movies are going to be the ones that future generations watch. Like, Princess and the Frog and stuff. If they keep doing things like that, future generations might consider those classic Disney movies.

The older classics that have been around for like 40 years, when Walt Disney was alive (like Snow White) might be popular in later years.
And to further prove my point, when I walked into my pre-AP world history classroom (the teacher also teaches AP), there were lyrics to Mulan's "I'll Make A Man Out Of You" on the board. They were done by the AP class. And most of the people in my class started singing. And they knew the lyrics.

I'm part of the Disney generation. But I think that the generation after us will like Disney too, because what we grew up on will be what they grow up on.

Re: Disney Generation?
I think we're the "Disney Generation."
Disney has gone down the toilet, to tell you the truth. Now it's all about Hannah Montana, && other Disney shows. I really wish the classics were back. I feel lucky to not be growing up right now. T.T I feel bad for those little kids who've been alienated from watching all these "prep" movies.
I guess you could say we're the classic Disney Generation.

Re: Disney Generation?
Hm. Now that I think about it, I never REALLY watched those classic disney movies. xD Only Cinderella.
I do remember have a video of lots of the songs from the classic movies. My favorite was the Alice one. But that was a long time ago, and I can't find it, probably collecting dust in our dusty TV stand. (It's very dusty. I don't think we've touched anything in there for a long time.) it's probably gone, anyway.
ANYWAY, (wow. off topic much?) I do think they'll be watched 20, 30 years from now. They're classics. And so good. xD
