Arianna's Reaaaly Tired Blog for the 28th of May
So, it's blog time again.
I'm so unbearably tired. I don't get it. I get nine hours of sleep a night, but I'm still about to fall asleep. I don't even do any sports or stuff (haha, I know that's not a good thing) and I'm still tired. The joys of being a teenager. My body should do well with the amount of sleep I get - there are a ton of people my age who get less than six hours of sleep a night, and they do just fine. Ugh.
This week was good. Ish. All together I've watched 29 episodes of anime - 25 episodes of Code Geass, after which the whole show sorta reset itself and I didn't understand anything, and 14 episodes of Ouran High School Host Club, which is interesting, to say the least. ^^
Other than that, my week wasn't very accomplished. Monday and Tuesday we had off (woo!) so I basically sat at the computer all day. On Tuesday I coded a kao ani generator, but the background of the images is always black… I'm trying to find a solution, but so far I'm failing. D:
I also read a story on another website, Young Writers Society. It, along with Young Writers Online and Absolute Write, is one of the three writing forums I sometimes go on, just to lurk. The story that I read - I can find a link to it if you want - was really touching. The plot doesn't matter, it's the way it was written. The narrative was so perfect, the author switched between different scenes and went from one time to another really seamlessly, and the characters were well fleshed out. Every sentence made sense, and not one seemed out of place or unnecessary, but the story didn't feel rushed.
Things like this make me feel like a horrible writer. You compare that - the author was 20, I think, by the way - and the things I write, and you can't even compare them. When I see stuff like that, I think of how far I have to go - how much I have to learn. And even then, it's not like I'll ever be as good as some people - not in coding, not in writing, not in school. It annoys me, I guess, to think that I can't be the very best at anything, but I guess that that's life.
I worked on my story, which is still unnamed, but that stupid writers' block just won't go away. It's not a horrible thing; I can still do my freewrites if I try very hard. But every time I sit down to write, I have to get into the rhythm again and it really isn't that easy. Once I'm writing, it's fun. I guess it's just such a daunting task.
Combine that with the fact that I'm trying to decide if I should give up on Imprisoned completely, and I really have a hard time writing. I loved Imprisoned, but it's really not decent - I'll admit that all of my characters are boring and clichéd, and none of them have motives. There's barely a plot, and even that is very vague and full of plot holes. I want to give it up, but I worked so hard on it - it'd be a shame to see that work go to waste, you know?
For my yet unnamed story, though, I'm going to be doing a 'snowflake story', to some extent. It means I start with a main idea, flesh out the three 'disasters' and the resolution, and trim down the unnessecary before starting with my actual story - even though I already have 1,500 words. I'm hoping that it'll give the story a better plot, and I'm hoping that it'll give me more motivation. If it doesn't, though, I don't know what to do. :/
On a happier note, Matsuda wonthe first Death Note elimination! I was completely addicted with that for the whole day, and I even racked up about 150 posts for myself. I made some new enemies/friends (they're both at the same time) and had fun. So yeah.
We have four more weeks left of school - yup, almost a month. There are still so many tests and things to do - in fact, I had a Spanish test today and I have two tests (science and geography) next week. The twelve-minute-run is also coming up…. Yayyyyy.
Summer loans are starting in the library, but I wish that they'd find the fourth and fifth Maximum Ride books already. I'm pretty sure that it would have potential for becoming one of my favorite series, just because of the plot (because I find the writing style quite boring, and I don't really like any of the characters), but if I can't read it all at once I sort of loose my interest.
I've attempted to draw some characters for RPs I'm joining, but I know that after a bit I'll forget about them - well, maybe not the PRP because it's a PRP, but the other one I sure will. I want to be a good roleplayer on Mind Rain - you know, make my responses less than three months apart - but it's so haaaard. There's no obligation to write a reply, and it's not as rewarding as a story. Still, my characters in it have came a long way. A longer way, perhaps, than those in Imprisoned.
And now, because you don't want to hear me rambling about writing, I'll talk about current stuff. The oil spill is really bugging me. There are so many poor animals and wildlife and even plants, and they're all dying because of a stupid mistake BP made. I don't care whose fault it is, they should fix it (if they haven't already) and they should make sure things go back to normal. Quick.
Which brings me to the topic of global warming. that's what we're going to be doing our essay on for geography. I've found so many facts about it, but what really bugs me is that people who know hardly anything are calling it fake, just because they feel like it. They don't even give reasoning - I'm completely fine with them being skeptic, I just wish they'd look at the facts before they tell us that the earth is actually getting colder. >.>
We were supposed to have sports day on Wednesday, but we didn't, because it's raining. Now it's on the 22nd of June, the Tuesday before we get out of school. I'd have preferred to have it sooner rather than later, but there's nothing that I can do.
I usually don't leave questions at the end of my blog, but I feel that some of the things that I've talked about may have interesting answers. So, I present to you, questions. They're open-ended, just answer whichever ones you want.
What do you think about Maximum Ride? Should I continue Imprisoned? Isn't Matsuda awesome? Care to comment on the oil spill? Care to comment about global warming? What's your opinion on RPs? Does anyone wanna be my writing-motivation-person? Can you draw in manga style?
Hmm. I feel that I've said enough in this blog, so I might as well end it now. I still have to freewrite, and I think I'm going to go to bed early today.
Adios, amigos!

:3 I know what you mean about Mind Rain. I mean, I'm okay with you not replying so much I guess, but what I'm talking about is the characters. I like my characters there. xDD
What do you think about Maximum Ride? One of the most wonderful series I've ever read. ^^ Love the plot, and sure maybe the characters aren't totally original, but still. And I know you don't like it, but personally I love the writing style. xD Just my reasons for liking it; not trying to argue or anything.
Should I continue Imprisoned? Yes. Don't give up, Ari!
Isn't Matsuda awesome? *gasp* How did you know? :O
Care to comment on the oil spill? The only stuff I've heard about it was from Twig, so, not really. xD
Care to comment about global warming? Yes, actually. See, I did do research, and there's this graph of the overall temperatures of the whole world, year by year - and while it shows that the earth hasn't been getting any warmer over the past ten years, it hasn't really been getting colder either. It did go down, but by like .1 degrees over ten years. xD No big. So I don't really think there's a problem. People may say, "oh it's getting warmer" and be right, but they're only experiencing the temperatures in their own area of the globe. They don't get to see what it's like overall.
What's your opinion on RPs? I think they're delightful. :3 Very good for helping develop writing skills!
Does anyone wanna be my writing-motivation-person? Hmm, I'm bad at motivation because I'm not strict enough. xD
Can you draw in manga style? Well. Sorta. Maybe. Idk. I guess so . . . ? It depends on how exactly you wanna define it, though. Cus I have kinda a cartoonyish style, and it looks like manga in my opinion, but I'm not positive.

I do, too. Flare's pretty cool. And so is Tama. But Jane isn't. xD
Maximum Ride: Lawl, it's fine. I just don't like the conversational way that Max narrates.
Matsuda: 'Cause he is!
Oil Spill: Baaaad Ado. xD
Global Warming: I think you should look at the last 1000 years and you'd see a much bigger difference. :3 But if you don't wanna believe in global warming... well, I'm afraid I can't force you. xD Also, have you seen pictures of glaciers melting? They're just scary. 0.o Ice which has been there for tens of thousands of years is just... disappearing.
Thanks for commenting, Ado. Even though you always do. :3

What do you think about Maximum Ride? Although I'm only on the second book, it's an incredibly awesome series.
Should I continue Imprisoned? I think so. You've worked so hard on it, and even though you think it might be going downhill, I think you should try to get on track again before giving up. ^^
Isn't Matsuda awesome? I hate to admit it, but yes. xD
Care to comment on the oil spill? It might reach us, so I'm scared. o__o
Care to comment about global warming? Yes, the earth is getting warmed, but I mean, it started 10,000 years ago when the last ice age ended, so I don't think there's anything to worry about. :/
What's your opinion on RPs? -shrug- They're fun.
Does anyone wanna be my writing-motivation-person? COME ON ARI, YOU CAN DO IT, PUT A LITTLE POWER TO IT!
Can you draw in manga style? I can't draw in any style. xD

Haha, no. xDD Jane's just a brat. And Willis is almost as bad! But that's what makes them so fun. :3
Global Warming: Hmm now? I may have to do some more research, then. Thank you for pointing that out to me. :3 Lol, that does actually sound rather scary . . .
You're welcome deary! ^^
