Tears streamed down Amber's face as she finished packing. She looked at her room for maybe the last time, then walked downstairs to the front door. "I'm sorry, mom," she sniffled, then opened the door and walked outside.

I wiped my tears off with my sleeve. "Hey," I said. "Could I stay with you for awhile maybe? I told my mom, and she wanted me to get an abortion. So I ran away. I...I just need to have someone to help me." I sighed.
