Accidentally in Love {Sequel to Just One Night}
Hey!
Yay, the sequel to Just One Night is finally up!
Maturity - Heavy kissing, a good amount of fighting, maybe just an ounce of violence (:
Fantasy - None.
Chapter 1 - Lindsay
When Jason woke up, I had already been awake for a good few hours. I had already showered, brushed my teeth, put my contacts in, changed my clothes, and packed my bag. But then again, I was normally a morning person and hated sleeping in when I had work to do. Plus, guys always slept for half of the day.
I watched as he turned in his sleep, in the phase where he was half awake and half in slumber. His eyes twitched and I thought they were gonna open, but instead he just sighed and kept sleeping. I smirked, seeing how cute he was with his hair messy, though he still had the face of an angel.
You see, Jason was my current boyfriend, though I put up a fight to get where we were now. Three weeks ago from today, we met each other. We were on the way to her sister's wedding, though he was there to see Dave, his best friend and my sister's fiancé at the time. When we met I was with John, some jerk who was supposed to be my date for the wedding, since my sister was convinced that I couldn't find anyone else.
After Jason saw John being the nasty pervert he was, he put him in place. I admired him from then on and was instantly attracted to him, though I think we both shared that feeling. Or at least I hoped that he was attracted to me too... And to think, after three weeks he went from being the mysterious blue-eyes hottie to the love of my life, and I wasn't one to throw that word around.
But, I kind of think it was love from the start. Shortly after we were introduced(and found out that we were sharing a combined beach house) we both shared a little too much alcohol and ended up kissing on the beach. After that, it was pretty smooth sailing for a bit. I mean I did play hard to get once or twice, but eventually I gave in.
The first obstacle was that Jason had been convinced a few times that my sister was cheating on Dave and trying to have a little faith in her, I convinced myself that he was lying. However, during their wedding after she didn't show, a bridesmaid handed Dave a letter saying that Cadie had died. I was pretty depressed at that point, though Jason was surprisingly good at comforting me and stayed at my side through it all.
However, shortly after, we found out that Cadie was bluffing so that she could escape to California to be with the guy that she had been cheating on Dave with. Then and there, their engagement pretty much came to an end. Oh, and we also found out that she was pregnant. It wasn't with Dave. On one end I felt bad for Dave, but on another I always had an inner feeling that this would happen, as did Jason. If only we'd warned Dave sooner...
A week after that it was pretty smooth sailing. Jason and I really got to know each other and basically made our relationship official. I was in complete bliss, knowing that I had all the time in the world to spend with him, doing whatever it was that we wanted. That was, until I ran into John again...
I had just finished eating dinner with my best friend, Monique, who was visiting just for the day to see me and to check out Santa Catalina Island(where we were staying). After that I walked from Starbucks to the local bar, where I was supposed to meet Jason at for a party. Behind the building, though, was John and he was obviously drunk.
Instantly he pulled me aside, being the disgusting leech he was, as he held a gun to my head. Freaked out of my mind and panicking, I started following him to his car, knowing that I was going to die that night. Everyone just watched and stared until Jason jumped him and started beating him soundless. The police took care of him after that. Since then, which was roughly a week or so ago, Jason has constantly been nagging me to see a therapist, and asking me if I was alright. I knew that he was worried about me, but I just wanted to forget about it.
And that catches us up to yesterday, when Jason and I went shopping. We headed towards Los Angeles, an hour long ride from Santa Catalina Island, so that I could buy myself a few things. Honestly, I just wanted to relax and et everything off of my mind, but I also needed to buy a dress for when Monique visits, which will be... Tomorrow. Yep, her and her fiancé decided to stay at Santa Catalina Island for a week to see us and hang out.
So, while I was in Hollister trying to refill my summer wardrobe, Jason went in to Starbucks to buy us some drinks. However, when I went to meet up with him in Starbucks, I saw some tramp kissing his cheek, as she walked off with my drink. Furious, I stormed out, in a state of complete rage.
Jason followed me and after a dramatic, but touching, fight in the street, I found out what had really happened. Apparently it was his ex girlfriend and she forced herself onto him, though he had clearly rejected her, and had absolutely no desire to be with her. I'm still keeping a close watch on him, but I forgave him. I mean clearly I would've won if it had been a competition, but it was good to not have to be jealous. He also told me, for the second time, that he loved me. The crowd around us made a lot of 'awws' and I felt like I was in a movie, though it was really embarassing.
And that leads us to today, the day before Monique and Markus visit and the day we're supposed to go back to Santa Catalina Island so that I can get everything ready for my best friend's visit and make reservations at restaurants and what not.
The only thing I was really worried about at this point was, well, Monique's visit. You see, Monique was gorgeous with chocolate brown skin, sleek black curls, and green-hazel eyes, though her personality was sharper than a bee's sting. She was very, VERY, competitive, trying to make a comparison out of every little thing. And in most cases, she won. I just knew she was going to try to show off her new fiancé, who graduated from Yale.
Not only that, but she was also very opinionated and was rather a hot-head when it came to people she didn't know. She was very sassy and a sweet/great friend, but she was rather a hot-head to people she didn't know. Also, it was REALLY easy to get her mad.
And I mean, if some of the things Jason does can get me mad, seeing how I'm normally mellow and forgiving, I couldn't even imagine what Monique would do if Jason slipped something that could be misunderstood. She'd blow the roof off of the house!
"Lindsay?" Jason mumbled, half awake, as he rubbed his eyes. "Yes, Jason?" I asked, not sure what to expect as I giggled at how delusional he was, waiting for an answer. "Good morning," his smiled was crooked, and I couldn't help but smile in return, before he clumsily walked to the other room, where he brushed his teeth and changed his clothes.
In a good mood, I decided to help him pack his back. Folding his clothes and his other numerous objects into it, I looked admiringly at my work. "Perfect! I thought to myself, snuggling into the used bed. I was wearing a red shirt over a white cami, with denim short-shorts and zebra striped flip-flops. The silk sheets tickled my mostly bare legs, which felt perfect in the morning. Flipping through the channels, I finally turned it off when Jason came out, shirtless, wearing jeans.
My eyes traced over his abs, before slowing returning to his face, where my gaze locked with those amazing blue eyes of his. "Hey, did you see where I put my clean shirt out?" he asked, as I looked around. Nonetheless, there was a folded white and blue shirt on the coffee table beside me, since I was on his side of the ruffled bed. "Here," I smiled, handing it to him. "Thanks," he grinned, though he worked past the shirt, to kiss me.
I smiled when we finally pulled apart, as he slid the shirt on without a struggle. "Ready to go?" he asked as I nodded, my curls bouncing with me. Slipping on my flip flops, I grabbed my suitcases, as we headed out of the hotel. As I passed one of the parrot's in the lobby, it squawked at me, which startled me, making me jump. Jason tried to politely hold back a chuckle, though he couldn't help it, as I teasingly nudged him.
After calling for a taxi, we were driven to the port for the ship to Santa Catalina Island. Boarding it, we set our luggage down in the luggage carrier and headed towards the tip of the boat, whatever it's called. Leaning against the railing, Jason hugged me from behind, his head resting on my shoulder.
No one else on the boat, we had more privacy than usual. It was probably because Spring Break had ended and everyone was going home, or maybe not as many people traveled on Sunday's. As Jason kissed my cheek, he slowly left a trail of kisses until he was at my neck. I felt a tiny spark surge through my body, feeling as though my legs were going to give way.
Just before the ship came to an end, I gasped. "What is it?" he whispered into my ear, waiting to see if my eyes were deceiving me. "Look!" I pointed out, seeing two dolphins hiccuping their strange laughs, as they jumped around the dock. "Oh, wow," he smiled, though I couldn't see him. I knew he was though, since I was feel it against my cheek. Turning around to face him, I was surprised by how close we were, before taking his hand as we grabbed our luggage and deported off of the boat.
When we got home, he dropped his luggage off at his house, before coming to my room. "Why don't we just keep the door between our rooms open?" he offered, as I thought about it. "Yeah, sure," I shrugged, nodding my head, as I frantically unpacked. I organized all of the clothes in my dresser, making sure they were perfect, before shoving my suitcase to the back of the closet, as I organized all of my dresses hanging so that that each one complimented the next. I also put my shoes together, according to outside, under them.
Next, I hung my new dress, and put my new clothes from Hollister away, looking around the room for something else to do. "You okay?" he asked, chuckling. "Everything has to be perfect for tomorrow," I explained, as he tilted his head to the side. "Why? Are they going to see our rooms?" he asked as I thought about it for a second. "Well, they might..." I mumbled, knowing there was a fifty percent chance that they would.
"Oh, well my rooms fine," he smiled, pleased. "And how do you know that?" I asked him, arching an eyebrow. "Maid service," he explained as my mom tilted open. "Darnit, why didn't I think of that?" I mumbled under my breath, though half of the work was already done. "Oh well, might as well finish," I shrugged as he nodded in understanding. After dusting everything, I vacuumed, organized my desk, before plopping down on the bed beside Jason. I noticed he was looking through all of my photos on my bedside table.
"When was this?" he asked, a picture of me when I was little, the flower of my cousin's wedding. "I was five in Colorado," I explained. "And this?" he asked, a picture of me about four years ago, surrounded by my friends with a cake in front of me. "Fourteenth birthday party in Colorado," I nodded my head. "And this one?" he asked, pointing to a picture of me when I was at my sweet sixteen. "Sweet sixteen in Colorado," I answered with a short pause, as he took one more look at it.
"You really like it there, huh?" he asked as I nodded my head. "Favorite place in the world," I sighed, missing just about everything from there. "Hm..." he mumbled, deep in thought. "Yes?" I asked, really wishing I could read minds at this point. "Oh nothing, just thinking," he shrugged. "So, am I going to meet all of your relatives at the reunion?" he asked as I nodded my head. "Sounds... Fun," he managed, frowning in humor. "Don't expect much," I smirked, blushing in embarrassment. "Hey, I'll et to spend time with you in your favorite place in the world. Sounds fine to me," he pecked me on my lips, as I felt a flutter in my stomach.

Re: Accidentally in Love {Sequel to Just One Night}
Oh yay! I'm so happy to see this one continued.
I have two bits of critique. First - you used the term "smooth sailing" twice in the beginning, within a few paragraphs of each other. Perhaps you could consider changing one of them so it doesn't sound so awkward . . . ?
Second, and this one is totally positive, I love how you described her emotions when Jason was kissing her as a 'spark.' Because that's like the same exact feeling I get sometimes, too.
